Anything that you can give to a family that lost everything in a house fire I am sure would be appreciated. First and foremost, I think that they would want things that could help them get back into a home of their own once again. Money is always nice and gift certificates are also nice to help families be able to get things that they need and have a need for. Hope this helps as we were victims of a house fire in the year of 2000.

I think your idea is a nice one, but maybe not practical at the moment (they may not have nice clothes to get their picture taken in). Instead, gift cards are nice to places like Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, Target, Wal-mart, gas stations, grocery stores. The kids may like something that will keep them in touch with their school friends -- school supplies, electronics, computers, etc. If you want to stick with the photo idea, how about a digital camera and a gift certificate to get prints, frames, and photo albums....they can make new memories of their own. Toys for the kids are always good at Christmas, since they are probably more concerned with the having the 'basics' than having the fun things.

First, Pray about this to GOD!!! And to do they have transportation, IF not you can sometimes ask do they need a ride anywhere, and Yes the Money is OK because they can use it on what they need it for the most like food, gas or maybe a bill. Well GOD is really going to Bless you for the thought of helping his children, So follow your Heart and some good conversation will not hurt either. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR DECISION.

Speaking from my own experience I think that your idea about the family portrait and pictures would be very thoughtful. My family just recently lost everything, and replacing household objects for us was relatively simple. What hurt the most was the loss of things like pictures and baby books. I think that you are a very kind and thoughtful person. The world could use more people like yourself.

That's a sweet thought, I think you're good to think of it. If you have a way of finding out if they've used a particular photographer in the past, it would be a good idea to see if you can use that one, since some photographers keep all their negatives and might be able to reprint old photos.

Go with all of the above give them those dishes and some money , only if you can afford it . It's the smallest things that people remember most so do what your heart dictates you to do.

Your primary gift of "compassion" speaks volumes. Anything you give them to help them reclaim their lives would probably be well appreciated. You could also help coordinate with them the ability to find "free" household items/furniture on sites like Craigslist. Look under the Items for sale heading then under the Free category in their town (if applicable).

your idea sounds great and nice... but ot be honest, i think right now they really need the money... especially around the holidays. OR! you can get them gifts for Christmas... make life a little easier for them.

i think that is a wonderful idea. They don't have to get them done right away but I bet its something that no one else thinks of. To me that's the most thoughtful gift you can give. :)
