I'm blessed with 2 little girls. Both beautiful. I love them so much, I couldn't imagine living without them. I also have the kindest husband I could ever meet. I may not be the most attractive woman on earth, and my husband is no body builder, but I think our children are just as good as any models children.

I don't know how someone could call their child ugly, but obiviously they don't know anything about children.

So please, post here about how you love your children, family, friends. Spread the warmth!

my husbands ex uses their son "tim" like bait to get what she wants and her jealousy over me is making it very hard for me to develop a relationship with tim.i am not allowed to watch tim if my husband can't his ex is to be called to get him.i am not allowed to have any contact with his school or freinds and the list goes on.tim loves spending time with me and i have never talked bad about his mom infront of him or tryed to be his mom.she is just pissed that we do things as a family and that i'm in what she feels is "her"place.my husband will not say anything to her as he says it will not do any good i can't control what she does.i think hes just afraid to confront her as he allways accomudates her and never questions anything she does.i understand my husband wants to stay on good turms with his ex for his sons sake but should she be allowed to treat me this way for no good reason and my husband just turns a blind eye to it?should i just let it go?we fight over this all the time

Hello, this is kinda embarrasing given the view in our society to certain standards of living. That said, I live in a very open family in an outdoor commune in Northern California in the redwood forest (that's as much as I am telling). Well I am pregnant and the father of my child is my brother. That isn't the problem, like I said that's the way of life in my family and our commune. We are very open sexually, and it is common for every family member to experience this family activity with one another (yes even with my parents and sisters as well). Please I ask you not to judge me...I love my family and my living standards and wouldn't change it for the world. Well my question is: is my child legally considered my nephew/neice as well as my son/daughter?

Consider this his mother and sister are nuts...his sister is a stripper whom was arrested for threatening to kill a young child (the case was dropped), his mother is a drinker and has been accused by her children of being neglectfull and she has an addiction to prescription pills, both his mother and sister chain smoke around other children in the family and to top it all off there is a history of domestic violence in the home between my baby's father and his mother and sister. Also his family hates me...I mean if I died today they would have a party!! Now my babies father is pressuring me to let my son meet his family without me present...am i wrong for saying no, let me add my babies father has only seen his son for 2 hours this month and about 4 hours last month....my son does not know him

I may sound superficial to some of you, but looks matter to me. My son is ugly, and this startles me. I'm attrative, I modeled in my youth, and my husband was a body builder. How in hell did we create such a beast? All of our other children are beautiful! Do you think maybe he was switched at birth? How can I convince the doctors to test him out? Without telling them I don't think he is my kid because he is ugly.

My father and brother live together. They are both alcoholics and when they drink they fight. They are having thanksgiving dinner at their house along with my uncle and cousin who are also violent (they have all gotten into a bad fight with EACHOTHER just this week) and my aunt who is also a drunk. My husband and I have a son who is not even 2. and I don't think he needs to be around all that.
There is no way to judge when the best time to go is because they are eating at 2 and they start drinking as soon as they wake up so by 2 the fighting will have already begun. How can I tell them we won't be there without hurting feelings or causing an arguement?

My wife and I have a 3 month old son with DS. He is great, my 2 year old has fun with him and he has already grown so much. We have our IFSP set in place and his teachers are always thrilled with the progress he is making. My question has to do with expectations. I have read a lot of books but they all seem to end with "he or she now lives an independent happy life". Thats great, but I want to know about some of the great things that people with Down Syndrome have accomplished. Where they work, what the independent living looks like, fun leisure activities that someone might not expect from a person with DS. I always have people asking me questions, and that is great, but I have this one of my own. I just want to think about all the great things my son may accomplish. I would especially like to hear from some adults with DS. Thanks for your time.

There's a toddler pic where my legs are spread (nekkid obv). I want to steal and destroy it, do you think this is aceptable, even though the photo doesn't belong to me I guess? It also might look obvious that I took it out of the album. I think I will look dumb if I ask permission to destroy it.

People have called their house, like DCF, bu they won't pick up the phone. Her dad spends money on laptops so they can barely afford their home, let alone get a divorce and restraining order. He keeps sticks in her house and that's what he uses to beat her with. I don't know what I can do anymore.

skateboard and play football. my mom thinks both are dangerous and "unlady like". i think skateboarding is cool and i would like to learn how to ride one. for the football part, i'm not talking about playing on a team, just in the backyard with my brother and cousins (who all happen to be boys). i've gotten my glasses twisted playing with them, so now i get in trouble if we play tackle. just tossing a football around a two hand touch is alright with her though (even though the guys would rather tackle). so should i just stick to playstation skateboarding and 2 hand touch, or go for the real deal.

my sister is moving in with my parents in a week and will be living in the same town as me....my husband has said that she will not be allowed in our house (not that i can't hang out with her, she just can't come here)....my sister is manic depressive and an alcoholic/drug addict...her behavior can be very wild and upsetting.....for example: the last time she was in town (nearly a year ago), her and my cousin were visiting for the weekend and my sister freaked out and starting yelling at my cousin and calling her a b*tch (for no reason, it was completely irrational), and as we were driving to my parent's house (it was like 2:00 a.m. and my hubby was driving) she jumped out of the moving car and refused to get back in...then tried to hitchhike with a car full of drunk men
i can totally understand why my husband doesn't want to be around her and doesn't want her in our house......but how do i tell her she's not allowed over without hurting her feelings or straining our relationship???

I'm trying not to be, but it's so hard. I have two little cousins and they are four. My grandparents love them to DEATH and they are the centar of EVERYTHING. I was never the main "thing" but they used to talk about me some before lilah and lauren came. I'm not trying to act jealous but I feel SO left out all the time. My grandparents are thinkin' about movin' to where they live so they can be closer to lilah and lauren and they won't include me. Me and my grandmaw have a bond, a very BIG and strong bond but when Lilah and Lauren are around she lets me hit me, bite me, pinch me, scream at me, and everything else, also pulling my hair!
Our bond is fading away and since I have no mom and my dad is not the "best" she is the only thing I have. I've tried talking to her but she just says I'm jealous of them and fuses at me!
I don't know what else to do, I feel so left out and she never pays attention to me anymore. It's like she don't even care about me, and I don't exist.
Help!!!!!!!!!

My ex passed away last month. We have a 5 yr old son. Since he died his mother and I have not been getting along to the point where I have cut off contact with her for the time being. She says really horrible things to me and about me. With the holidays I know she'll want to see my son but given her attitude I'm hesitant about leaving him with her. I know he misses his grandparents but I don't trust them. He's already lost his father, I don't want him to suffer anymore than he has to. What do I do if I can't get along with them and don't trust them to return him if I let him go to their house? She got a lawyer and tried to keep me from getting her son's social security. They're giving it to me anyway but her lawyer told her she can get it if she has custody of my son. Now I'm afraid to even let him out of my sight. What do I do?
