Well, I'm not a mom but as a father of two children I think this is a despicable act. Your husband is teaching your son that women are objects. Ask him if he would think differently if his 18 year old daughter wanted to work at a strip club.

I am a mom. I have also worked in adult clubs, as a waitress. From a mother's standpoint, I can see where you wouldn't want your son to be in the club. From a wiatress's standpoint, I have seen what goes on in the club. They'll announce that it's his birthday, get him on stage, and make a big fuss over him. They more than likely won't strip him and have their way with him, even if he does want them to! If your husband has always been honest and faithful to you, I say let your husband have his fun. After all, you only turn 18 once!

It does not require only moms to answer your question. I think your husband was silly to associate a nude club with maturity. Where will he take your 18year old daughter for her rite of passage party? It is absolutely unimaginative of your husband to throw back to the dark ages when such male chauvinistic attitudes were indulged in by men. I wish you can have a talk with husband on better ways to make your son become a true man ,not one that takes women to be toys. Your son was being drilled to become a voyeur by your naive husband.

I think its a little weird that a man has to use his son as an excuse to go to a strip bar. There is no harm in a young man going to a strip bar if he realizes that all woman are not like them and has a healthy view of woman in the first place. Eighteen is young. I myself would not go to an all nude bar with my daughters as I feel it crosses the line .Is the father planning on paying for a hooker as a right of passage? I asked my son if he'd go to a nude club with his father and he was grossed.(He's 24)Although he has no problem going there on his own.

I would be 100 % supportive ( not only supportive - but jealous I didn't get to join them ) ... why not ... he's 18 for crying out loud ... you really don't think he hasn't seen a naked body all ready ... the all nude clubs don't allow alcohol so you don't have to worry about him getting plastered & driving drunk with his buddies ... your husband is taking him so he'll have some type of supervision ... plus why not give him one of the coolest memories a boy could tell his other friends when he gets older I'm sure he'll never forget that one time dad took him to the strip club ... it just sounds fun .. and you're the party pooper ... !

I go to strip clubs now with my man ... we have tons of fun ... it's not just about seeing naked women .. it's the whole experience the excitement ... let him live a little or he'll live a lot without the two of you !

You have to figure by the time "most" sons have become 18 they have already slept with a girl/guy and have seen boobs etc....maybe you should talk to your son and see what he thinks. If he would like to go at least your husband is there and nothing will go to far. If he doesn't want to go then you need to talk to your husband and tell him he just isn't interested right now.

My son is 14 and knowing him the way I do, I don't see any problem with it. He was taught that women are not objects they are up there making a living just like his father and I do...they are simply for entertainment not to abuse.

I'm not a mom but he would only be going over my dead body. Right of passage into what ?? Degrading women ? Becoming a sleaze ? Showing him its ok ? I think mothers need to stand up and start producing some better men. This boys will be boys attitude is totally out of control and getting worse.

I think it is ok.. your son will be old enough and he will go with or with out his dad.. so why not let them go have a ggood time? or is it that you have more of an issue that your husband is going? if so then he may not need to go.. you all need to talk about it.. but i am sure neither one of them are going to do something they should night becouse they will know the other one will tell you.. it is a safe and fun thing....

It is not illegal..but I personally do not think it is an appropriate idea..

I would be disgusted if my husband went to any strip club by himself or with his friends..

I think strip clubs are for single men, not married ones or ones in serious relatioships..

I think there are many better places to take an 18 year old to celebrate their birthday..

I'd feel sad. It's such a low, scuzzy thing for a teenager to have to look at. And with his daddy? Gross. I think I'd be less upset if he went with a group of guy-friends.... but the father/son thing sounds perverted. I'd say absolutely not! Take him to Disneyland or something fun, don't corrupt him.
