i too have an embarassing baby photo which i found, and i ripped in half.
which probably wasn't the best thing to do since my mother got upset with me for destroying the picture.
Tell your mother or whoever has this picture in their possession to give it to you, because it's a personal photo that makes you feel uncomfortable.
if you take it out of the album, then just put some other photo to replace it.
you said that you didn't want to look dumb for asking permission to destroy it, but if you don't ask, then that photo will be out for the rest of your family (and ext. family and friends) to see.
instead of just destroying it, just keep it in YOUR possession and hide it somewhere in your room.
take care.

Why would you want to destroy someone else memory you were only a baby and this should not embarrass you after all it is not as through your picture as been grown is out their for every one to see, leave the pictures in the album and do not steal someone else joy.

i take tons of photos and you know what i am not sure y we do it but all parents have naked photos of there kids lol i think it may be because at one time we all run around naked anyway i am a freak about my pics and if one of my children did that i would be highly upset.. it has nothing to do with what your wearing or not wearing it is as a parent we are so proud we keep every single memory we can... i have a pic of my daughter just hrs old i am not sure really who even took it cause i was knocked out but anyway she is naked and her legs are apart also but she is just hrs old and it was taken before i even got to see her and if it came up missing i would be sooooo upset i also have one of my son and you can tell he is a boy when i took it i was trying to take a pic of his first smile and it just so happend that it was during bath time at any rate you are young and i know they seem embarrasing to you rite now but one day you will love to look at thoes photos of your child hood even the naked ones and when you become a proud mom you will have naked photos of your kids too PS my mom has a photo of me with my cousin (male ) playing in our back yard we are like 3 yrs old naked as can be except the bowls on our heads lol i would be upset today if thoes photos came up missing as well

If it bothers you ask for it to be destroyed or scan the photo and then use photo shop to crop that part out of it so your family can still have the picture and it won't embarrass you anymore.

I think you just have to tell your mother how embarrassed this makes you feel and ask her if you can add a sticker to cover up the area or if you could just get rid of it. I don't think that parents envision children's feeling when they snap these pictures that they find so "darn" cute. If you express how you feel I am sure that your mother will understand.
