Hello, this is kinda embarrasing given the view in our society to certain standards of living. That said, I live in a very open family in an outdoor commune in Northern California in the redwood forest (that's as much as I am telling). Well I am pregnant and the father of my child is my brother. That isn't the problem, like I said that's the way of life in my family and our commune. We are very open sexually, and it is common for every family member to experience this family activity with one another (yes even with my parents and sisters as well). Please I ask you not to judge me...I love my family and my living standards and wouldn't change it for the world. Well my question is: is my child legally considered my nephew/neice as well as my son/daughter?

I have no idea, try surfing websites to find the answer, or ask others in your commune. I am not sure if there are laws identifying if the child would be a son or a nephew, it might just be the spoken law amongst the commune. Sorry I couldnt help you more....maybe it can be whatever you prefer? You do realize that inbred children have a much greater chance of having some type of physical or mental disability, or both, and taking care of disabled children is not for everyone, please remember that!!!

There is no way that you won't be judged for asking this type of question.
People are going to think you're strange and ridiculously ignorant for living as you do, but... to answer your question... I first have to ask, does it really matter? Your child will be your child no matter what. I think your biggest concern should be whether the child has medical issues as he/she is the product of incest.
Now that you're becoming a mother you should review your lifestyle. Do you want your child growing up having sex with anyone and everyone no matter what the relationship is with that person? Can you picture one of your parents having sex with your child? Does that not bother you at all?
Be careful who you talk to about your lifestyle. Big Brother may be knocking at your door soon.

Sorry to destroy your fantasy here but that isn't right. From what your just said is sounds like your future child might end up having sex not only with your brother but also parents. That's wrong and I suggest you get out of there. Your future baby could be terribly tramtized from all of this. So please leave that commune immeadiatly. As for the child I think legally he/she would be you son/daughter. But I'm not a lawyer.

Yes, because you and your brother are committing incest. Your whole family is, but that's the way you were brought up. The baby will be your child and niece or nephew.

How can you honestly expect people not to judge you when you say that?!?!?!?!?!?!?! That is SOOOOO wrong on so many levels!!! I feel sorry for you that you were raised to believe that is okay, and now don't know any better. Seek help from the outside world IMMEDIATELY and educate yourself on this! PLEASE!
