My step daughter doesn't have anything to do with her father or I, but will only call to ask for money. We don't want to be check book parents. What can we say to her?

I became engaged this year (we had dated a year prior to the engagement). My fiance had been married before and divorced. He came to MD 5 years ago without his children (12 & 8 yrs boys). The children's mother sent them to Maryland March of this year. The problem is the children had been allowed to raise themselves while in Florida. Their mother has two other children from a previous marriage. I'm here to help my fiance while still having issues of my own with my mother and 14 year old neice who came to live with me almost a month ago. I have sisters who do not help with my mother so everything is left up to me. My fiance and I have been arguing since the children have arrived but we were never like this before they came. They keep his home soooo nasty and unclean. He works two jobs and I work only one (we don't live together but I go over to help with his children) and I work from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. I enforce the rules my fiance doesn't because he works 2 jobs. HELP!!!

my parents separated when i was 9 although i kept intouch with my dad until i was 12 .he remarried and the woman hated us.anyway he split from her and moved to new zealand when i was 13 and he has married again i havent heard from him until today when i got a letter from him and it has really shocked me ..he was not a very good dad he would always beat us but after all he is still my dad but i my confused as i dont know whether i want contact with him after all this time, i am 36 now and have 4 children who he has never seen

I've had primary custody since our son was born. He's trying to establish joint custody, but he's only doing this so that he can reduce/eliminate paying child support. Before child support was established he didn't want overnight visits. He's found out that if our son has 123 overnight visits per year, with him, it could change how much he pays in child support.

my mom in law drives me nuts!!! right now my husband and I with our3 kids are staying with her, not by choice, she did this to us. we moved here(WA) from MT and we hate it here. my husband was offered a job that brought $50k a year i MT. when we told her about it she fliped out and said.. i don't know why the hell you would want to leave everyone here that loves you all so much, and told us that if we moved she would never get to be in our kids life. she said that its not places its people, she was very pist. we hate it over here. my hubby couldn't even tell her what he feels, i hate that!!!!!! i wish thathe would just tell her to shuv it! i could give her a piece of my mind, but then my husband probably wouldn't talk to me. i wish he would stand up to her! i'm sorry this is so long, but i hate life and i really hate her right now! what to do??????????????????

Ever since my bf told his mom that I had cheated on him, she has declared war on me. We have a baby girl together and she thinks that the baby isn’t his. Sometimes when I call, she tells me that her son is coming late because he was going out with some girl. This just gets me so upset. When my bf finally calls me and lets me know he is home I tell him what happened and he says that he will talk to her. Fore some time things are ok, but soon after she does it again. I’ve never disrespected her. Now she did it again and I just don't know what to do. I was calling my bf work since 5 pm and he called me like at 7pm saying that he had just gotten home. That he got out like at 6:30 I was so frustrated. I told him what his mom had said and asked him to tell her not to do it any more. I wanted to hear it. But he just said. This is between my mom and me its has nothing to do with u. I feel like he lets her do what ever she wants with me and I can’t seem to be able to say anything. Please help..

I think I may be pregnant (which is a wonderful thing!). When had my first daughter, my company paid 100% maternity leave while I was out (for an entire 12 weeks). But my new company is small and they offer no such leave. I've heard about the family leave act in California, but don't know much about it. Does anyone have any information on this....ie: how much they pay, how long I can take off, etc. Thank you for your input in advance!

Isnt this messed up? I mean the kid has a mom and a dad,they shouldnt be calling other people,mom,dad,unless the bio parent was an a** and is far gone out of the picture. Or people in this situation,how do you feel about it? About your kids calling the new wife mom or vise versa?

Has anyone else had this problem? My parents and my husbands parents were so thrilled to have these grandchildren, but now they hardly ever want to spend time with them. My father and his wife live 15 minutes away and we may see them 3 times a year. My mother-in-law retired from her job 2 years ago because she "wanted to spend more time with her grandchildren", but we're lucky to see her once or twice a month. She also acts like it is such an inconvenience for me to ask her to baby sit, which I only ask her maybe 5 times a year max. My kids are angels when they are with their grandparents, so behavior is not an issue. I have taken it upon myself to go visit them, but then they act like you have just intruded on their day, so I have just stopped going. I am starting to take offense to this, especially where my mother-in-law is concerned since she used my kids as her excuse to retire and now never comes to see them. Any suggestions on what I should say to them if anything at all?

I adopted a child who hates me. He abuses me constantly. We have 4 counselors involved with the 4 kids that we adopted as well as a case manager. We have called the police for domestic violence against us. We are not violent, just the kids are. No matter what the consequence my son continues to put me down. We have tried loss of privileges, a reward system, grounding, loss of personal items, including or excluding him based on his behavior, loss of allowance... what can I do? I am becoming depressed. I no longer have any friends. No one wants to be around him. I am withdrawn at work and do not even socialize with my coworkers. I am so tired of being told how stupid, ugly, fat, mean, retarded and gay I am. I have a husband and he is supportive. We just do not know what do do anymore.

my daught tells us that some bad people broke in to thier house and killed all of them, his parents went to heaven and he came to live with us his name is jacky some times we have to set a plate at the tabel for him and buckle him in the car. He is very friendly and my daughter loves him im not sure if this is real or all made up.
