I'm all about traditional, but not necessarily common. I keep thinking that I wouldn't want my child to start school, and be in a classroom with 6 other kids who have the same name. It also depends on how the first name sounds with the last name.
Here are my favorites:
Elizabeth
Lauren
Robyn
Anna
Julia
Rachel
Joy
Hannah
Catherine
Bridget
Gloria
Grace
These are all I can think of right now. Hope it helps!

You should also avoid weird spellings. You'll never find anything personalized (if you're into that sorta thing), people will spell and mispronounce her name for her whole life, and it will just be a fad that dates her.

It matters a whole lot what your last name is.
If I had a baby girl, I would name her a beautiful girlie first name and my family name and my husband's family name.
For instance Vivian Smith Garner
Genevieve Lewis Johnson
Miranda Thomas Wilson
If you have a really awkward name like Rumplehatferski, then you might try naming her after your mother's family name or dad-first name
For instance Lilly Charles Wilson
That way you, your family and your husband are all included--sort of like a pedigree on a dog.
I like Elizabeth, Olivia, Gloria, and other old long girlie names. Remember she is going to be a grown woman a lot longer than a cute little baby- so no Trixie, Pixie, Brandy, Wendy, Robyn, Apple.
I have known several old ladies named Wendy/Robyn. It is absurd.
Madison is the number 1 name. My grand is Madison and there are 3 in her class. She goes by Maddie--to be different!Happy Baby!

My 20yr = Ashley Nicole (this is too common) she's known of 4 others throughout growing up with same name & see the 1st response you got.

My 12yr = Mariah Kathleen (1st one Indian Heritage & 2nd one Irish Heritage)

If I could have another child/girl I've come to like Madison Taylor (don't know Y). I'd call her Maddie for short I think.
