My son is afraid of monsters and asked me if they were real, because he was scared they were in his room. I told him there was no such thing as monsters, but I had to be honest with him and so I told him it might be wolves or criminals sneaking around the house or something. I don't want him to be naive but now he's crying alot and wont go to bed. He's in 2nd grade, what should I do?

When I was 13, the girls next door found out I still got spanked occasionally. These were not abusive spankings or beatings, just your typical spanking.

They told all of their friends and it got all over school. It got very embarrassing for me yet many of their girlfriends were very amused and they would tease me. For example, they would do things like ask if "my bottom was sore today"? or they would rub their rear ends and say "ooooh" and giggle or if I got in trouble they would ask me if I was going to get spanked when I get home and laugh.

Iam 19 and I have a brother .He is 22.I like him so much and I try my best for him in all things.But now Ican't do this b/c he told me one thing.Oh God that is dificult to me.U know what he told me here is the word "I love you and I can't stop this ever,and Iwant to kiss you like ur bf".And he cray .So help me b/cthis is like death.

i asked him not to do it as it is unpleasant. his response is he does not realise he is doing it. it is a horrible habit but he refuses to see the doctor and i dont know what to do. should he go to a physiscarist, although he would probably refuse, i would just like help or ideas please.

An example: I like films like Mary Poppins, I dont like the part in Toy Story where Buzz says "shut up" My son is 2 and a half and is like a little sponge! I dont think "shut up" comming out of a two year old mouth is a nice thing - its really difucult for a 2yr old to distinguish whts ok and whats not
ie. yes, buzz said that but its not polite so you shouldn't
Another example, I don't like him playing with guns.
And one last example, I dont appreciate my partner teaching him cheeky comments.
So its supposed to be a joke, but I dont think calling aunty a "fatty" is very polite!
Am I being far too over the top? I know I am only a guide and he will grow into his own person, but I feel it is my responsibility to try my best to teach him what is, and is not acceptable. Will he not fit in with society because I am 'sheltering him from the real world' as Im sure some people may take this.
Is it enough that Im questioning myself?? Pls only serious answers.

I have three children and my two oldest ones just don't understand the money doesn't grow on tree's. I feel very sad today and I'm praying...any advice? I feel like they dont' love me b/c I can't afford things and they even told me they don't love me....thank God I have a little girl who is a blessing, and hugs a lot back!

My 8 year old wants to be a werewolf (!) for Halloween ..but Ive been to ALL the stores around here..walmart..kmart...halloween specialty stores.etc...and all they have are ADULT werewolf costumes...any idea on where else i could go ??? or should I just buy the adult version and cut it down ???

We decided to have children using a donor sperm. It was a hard decision but my kids are amazing. My kids love their father and have no idea about this.
They are now too young to be told. I think its important for them to know someday. Anyone else out there have children using a donor sperm or egg? What did you do?

I haven't seen my grandson for 2 mos. My son won't discuss the situatiion with family, says it's his business. I am very worried about this baby. His mother wasn't very could at caring for him when they lived here.Although I kept my opinions to myself so not to cause problems, I did see a lot of neglect.( Dirt diapers, missed feedings, days without bathing child & wearing same clothes for days, baby ignored alot, baby rarily allowed out of bedroom.) Most of the time the rest of the household would just step in and give him the care he needed or he just wouldn't get it.
Now that she is gone and we haven't seen or heard anything, GOD only knows what kind of condition he is in. Please give me some kind of advice about what I can do. I am truely deeply worried about his welfare. I live in NJ and I don't know what kind of rights I might have as a grandmother. I really am so worried that something might happen to that child, if it hasn't already.

My brother gave them temporary custody of his son when he was in trouble and they wouldn't give him back. There was a nasty nasty court battle that lasted two years. My parents won and my brother lost all rights. My brother won't swallow his pride and call and make arraingements to visit his son who just turned 11. In the meantime, my brother and his new girlfriend just had a baby girl. This is my brothers 2nd kid. I hadn't told my parents about the pregnancy because my parents won't allow me to discuss or say my brother's name in front of my nephew. If they don't want my nephew to know the little everyday things that go on in my brother's life, I have been reluctant to tell the big news. Who's being the most rediculous? I know it's a sad situation and I want to be part of the solution and not the problem. My brother has not talked to his son or our parents in a year and a half. He's getting married to his girlfriend in march and has legally changed his last name.

See what happen is, somebody need to clean our gutters ever week cuz all kinds crap pile up in em, so that the little girl's chore. I try to make sure she safe by followin her roun' the hous while she on the ladder doin the cleanin. See, now the bad part is, I always tol her that the mo clothes she wearin, the mo chance somethin get caught in da ladder or da gutta and she get hurt, so I tell her wear a real short skirt and don wear no undies. The police be all like I a pervert or sometin, when I for sure just want to make the lil ho safe. Somebody gots ta believe me. What can I do, bros?
