I am 16 yrs old, and I am ready to get my own apartment. I have told my parents that my best friend and I are going to roommates, and I'm going to split the rent with her, and I'll stay in the same town. But they won't listen, they are SO over-protective! I've always had a good relationship with my parent, but they have sheltered me far too much, and I'm ready to make my own decisions! Any ideas on how to convince them?

If she finds out I am enjoying something she is opposed to it and makes me quit it. I had an interest in the paranormal, she made me quite that. She found out I enjoyed the Martial Arts, made me quit that. She found out I enjoy politics, berates me whenever I talk about it, not for or against any issue, mainly against me talking about it. I use to be interested in sciences, she made me quit that and gave me hell about it.

Is it Christianity or it personality to control be against enjoyment?

I am trying to write a book. I was hoping you could give me some ideas about:

What you desired most

What you were pressured into by friends or family

What you most regret

What was the worst thing that has ever happened to you

What was the worst thing that you have ever done to someone else

What is the funniest thing to every happen to you

What one thing did you do that if someone found out about would cause the most problems.

Please specify if you were in your teens, twenties, thirties, etc. when it happened.

Please add anything else you think would be cool.

If I do use any of these it would be the jest of the experience not yours exactly.

My family is far from perfect but is it right in anyway shape or form for my parents to send me to bed every night in tears? All my family does is yell and to tell you the truth it REALLY sucks. My mom owns her own business and I work under her so I never get away from her and well my dad is my vocal coach/manager so all he ever does is bark commands. But is there any reason on earth for them to make me cray all the time. Becasue they past few weeks there have been only 2-3 nights that I have not cried myself to sleep or been crying when I go to sleep.

Or am I out there on my own??
Does anyone still actually cook from fresh ingredients? You hear so much about the increase of fast foods, junk foods and the increase of childhood obesity, etc, so why don't more people take the child's health into their own hands?
There are very few meals served in this house that haven't been cooked from scratch - even the days when I think I don't have time. There are plenty dishes that can be made up quickly and I am satisfied that my children enjoy a very healthy, varied diet.

My sister just had a baby, James, on Tuesday. My sister and I have never been really close but whatever. Well, she had the baby on Tuesday and never called to tell me. She called my sister-in-law and everyone else except me and my mom. I sent her a card saying congrats but that is it. She called me today screaming at me saying I was a terrible because I didn't call her like everyone else. I didn't even know what hospital she was in. I offered to take her daughter for the day, with the exception of 1 hour cause I had a meeting. Do you think she has a right to be mad? How is it fair that she called everyone else to say she had him but not me or mom. Im just really confused...

Mothers, what if this happens to your son, do you care about your son:

Are you aware of the degree of EMOTIONAL damage?
Are you aware of the degree of physical damage?
Are you aware of how COMMON this is becoming?
Do you warn your son about the danger, and do you educate your daughters not to do it unless extreme emergencies?
