She probably does have some motives unless she has had a complete revelation. Has your husband been mad at her or ignoring her more or taking up for you in arguments or not visiting her as often? That could have something to do with it. Maybe she is scared of not having him around. I don't know why she has waited so long now. It looks like she would have done somethings much sooner to keep her son on her good side and to get to know you atleast for her own sanity.
If I were you, wehn you go to visit her, be friendly and all. Then tell her that you have something you really need to know. Then sit down and politely ask her why she now has a change of heart. Give her plenty of time to answer. Remember, be polite when you ask.
You never know. If she is crazy mean, she may have something bad planned. If so you will never find out from her telling you. She could be trying to win her son back and keep him happy. She could really like you or want to stop being a mean person to you. She could be really sick and afraid that she is dying and wants to make ammends. I don't know. So just ask her and see what she says and how she acts--body language. Go with your gut feeling and talk to your husband about things. But find out by giving her a chance to explain, if you want to. If you don't want to see her, depending on how she has treated you, do not feel obligated. I understand what you are saying about in-laws and it is not always worth the hassle. I don't know yours, so make the best choice for yourself. Don't let anyone put you down.

Maybe she's realizing that you two are going to stick together, and figures she's better off being in a good relationship with her daughter-in-law. Maybe she's changed her mind about you. If you think she is really sneaky and conniving, then keep your guard up and watch out what you say around her.

Maybe she had decided to accept you and now wants to be on friendly terms. Don't be so suspicious. Accept her invitation. Get to know her. Then you can form an opinion whether or not she is being honest. But just to be on the safe side, don't give her any information she can use against you.

maybe she realizes you are too good for him and she wants to figure out how to maybe make him better. or maybe you are wrong about her, maybe your hubby said something in the past about you that made her not like you and now she knows its not true maybe you should rise up and be the better person and go visit her. then see what you think just keep an open mind.

She don't want him back home to support., as far as being sneaky they all are and very nosey. Never leave them alone in your home because they will go thrugh every drawer and private papers.

Yes leave her alone
My dumb x wife felt like she abandoned her mommy by "breaking up with her" to marry me.
One day she says "my mom and I are one" and soon there after left.
Avoid the trouble, and GET OUT NOW!!!!

I'd be very leary of her. She may have something up her sleeve or she's realized that you aren't going anywhere so she better learn to like you.

maybe your hubby said something and she's finally willing to give things a chance for his sake. do you have anything to hide? if not then don't let it bother you to much, just be cautious.
maybe somethings up with her and she may need your help with it?? maybe financially or something??
i don't know. just give it a chance while still being cautious.
