CONGRATS Papa! No One is perfect. Always remember that. Don't try too hard. You'll do fine. What you're feeling is normal. Father hood and mother hood is a scary and wonderful experience. Becasue now your whole life will be different. Just remember that your child is the most hard, & wonderful thing in your life. Your life will NEVER be boring. There will be many ups and downs. You child can make you feel happy, sad, angry and excited all at once. Don't ever do things that all these doctor books say...every child is different. Just love your child.

It's great to be a Papa and you'll never be perfect at it. They don't come with instructions. Just do the best you can and don't forget to listen to a little advice when offered and seek advice when needed. Love them and they will love no matter what. To answer your original question, what's it like to be a papa for the first time? Well I think you already know. Good luck.

First of all, you'll never be perfect because it is something you have never done before. It is something you can never really be prepared for but something you will never regret doing. It is the single most life-changing event of my life and is a daily learning experience. The only piece of advice I can give you is to just love your child (as I'm sure you will) despite all the tears, screams, diapers and anything else that can (and will!) come your way. I congratulate you for taking such an amazing step in your life and you will soon find that life before children wasn't really life at all. Good luck and have fun!

Try to remember babies will cry dont get angry they cant help it, it is their only form of communication. When they can speak listen. They have opinions, and some are very intelligent. They have feelings on things and they are important. Spoil them a little cuz some kids live in abusive homes. And spank only if they are going to do something dangerous like stick a fork in the light socket or run in the road. If you succeed in all that they should be fine and so should you!

You can't be perfect -- so advice #1 is to give up that hope, otherwise you'll never be happy, you'll just always beat yourself up for not being perfect.
Get prepared for your life to CHANGE DRASTICALLY FOREVER! Some changes will be wonderful and heavenly, but some changes will be really rough. Becoming a parent is a wonderful thing, but life will not magically be all sunshine and roses. You will have lots of sleepless nights, dealing with a crying baby, stresses when the baby gets sick, your house will be messier, your wife will have less time for you because now she has the baby too, etc., etc.
Not trying to bring you down, just saying that life will be dramatically different, so prepare for that and it will be easier to deal with.
But above all -- congratulations!

There are the factors to become a perfact. your information is really not sufficient to answer you properly. Please specify what you are doing, what is your planning for future etc.....
However, if every thing is alright and fine then go ahead....you can be a perfact !
Think positive in life ! If you ask questions to others which you are able to solve with your own decision, you won't be perfact as you are solely depends upon the others's judgements which may be negative OR wrong sometimes for you ! So, be careful ! Always !

Congratulations, To be honest the first 4 months suck. I don't want to scare you but during the first four months the baby has to eat every 3-4hrs. This means no sleep for you. He has no personality. If he is not crying he is sleeping. Somewhere in that time, however, you get to like those midnight feedings and then he develops a personality. He starts to recognize you and even smile. My advice, be patient and make sure you have another adult that you can give your baby to and go out. Just remember, it gets better... much much better

Depends on your maturity and if you really want the baby and are ready for everything that comes with it???? It's a VERY hard job, you're not gonna be perfect. As long as you love the baby and take care of him/her the best you can and always put him/her first then you will be great.

Make sure to spend a lot of TIME, not money, with your children. Don't just set them in front of the tv when u don't have time to watch them (but if u do, make sure they're watching something educational). Make them laugh often, play with them, and surround them with educational materials so that they are always learning, even without knowing it. For example, hang maps around the room and the kid will learn countries' names over time without trying. Remember to read to your child a lot so that they learn to love reading and find school enjoyable (I looove reading and I approach every subject with excitement). A love for reading is the main reason kids succeed in school. Take your kid to the park a lot and remember to always encourage them, like, "you can go down the slide by yourself. Don't be scared, I know you can do it!" Give your child confidence. The best things in life are free so take your child to a lot of fun stimulating free environments like the library, park, festivals (check your newspaper), etc. Also remember to teach ur kid about responsibility and don't spoil them.
Lastly, my dad says that being a father is the best gift he's ever received. You get to relive being a kid again, see everything through a child's eyes, and be someone's mentor for life. Your child will be in ur hands and u get to mold him/her into whatever u want. make it worthwhile. You'll also experience love and happiness like no other. Sure there are times u wanna skip like diaper changing and tantrum time, but looking back on that stuff will make you laugh. Plus it'll be good stories to share with ur child when he/she grows up. have fun and congratulations!
