okay it is about senior pics and we got into a huge arguement about what shirt i should wear, and she is like i'm not paying for it, pay for it yourself. Here's the thing she doesn't know i have money so should i show her up and pay for them myself or should i try and work it out..

It's time to grow up. If your mom wants you to wear the shirt of her choice, and you don't, you must pay for it. I would make you pay for the shirt, and the pictures..Cause I'm old school, and if you live in my home and eat my bread, you better do what i say.
Since you think you're so smart, get out and get two or three jobs, buy a car, and house to rent and food.
u c i'm on your moms side.. You have no idea what it took to get u here, and grown up .. Not to mention out of high school.

i think it is your right to be able to look the way you want in your senior pic, as long as you wear a shirt (that isn't too revealing and one that the shool would allow). but i think it's also important to care about what your mom thinks, that's just the way it is.
what's important now is communication. tell her why you want to wear that shirt, and tell her why you don't want to wear the shirt that she wants you to wear. also tell her that senior pics are a big deal (and will last almost forever) and that it is important that you are able to express yourself as a high school graduate.
it would be better to work out some sort of compromise with her. it's not necessarily about the money here, it's about her playing a motherly role in your life (even if it is too controlling). however, if you must pay for it yourself, try and do it in a way that won't upset her too much. she's still your mother.

Hmmm it doesn't sound like she would care if you bought your own. It just sounds like she feels the shirt you have is perfectly ok and she doesn't want to invest in another.
I am in my 50's and have a grown son. If I had that argument with him it would only be that I didn't want to take a trip to the damned mall and spend more money.
Tell her you will take care of it yourself and not to worry. You asked her to buy it, she said no. Leave it at that and go get your own shirt. Don't allow it to be an argument because it doesn't have to be. Show her this mail if she gets pissed off. I'm just a stranger but maybe she'll be able to tell I'm not some goofball on the internet. Well of course I am, haha, but I'm a nice goofball with too much time on her hands and too much coffee in my system every morning.

When it comes to senior pictures, moms usually know best. However, this doesn't mean that you can't compromise. Senior pictures often come in a variety of poses, where they will allow you to change your clothes. Tell your mom you'll wear her shirt for some of them, and your shirt for some of them. If she won't hear of it, explain to her that these pictures are about who you were at this point in time of your life. This shirt helps you express that and you'd really like some pictures of you wearing it. Then pray she's sees the light!
Congrats on being a senior!

depends on how badly you want to wear that shirt. If you are insistant on wearing it then yes pay for the pics yourself. If you dont want to fork out the money and save it for college, then wear what she likes and let her pay for it. Sure you could show her up, but then your out 400 bux or more. Is it worth it????

If you pay for it yourself, you get the shirt you want. Your mom then realizes you have responsibility. She'll be proud of you, but she might have you buy other things on your own.
If you work it out, she'll continue to buy you things. You won't get the shirt you want. She'll still think of you as her little baby.
The choice is yours.

Stop trying to be at odds with your mom. Since you already have the shirt. Try to CALMLY explain to her why you'd like to wear the shirt. At the same time ask her why she does NOT want you to.
A little communication, goes a long way. Please try it.

Compromise. It would go along way to show your mom that you are growing up and all her hard work is paying off.
