My dad is one of those super possesive dads. If I want to do something that he doesnt want me to do, he'll just say, "NO" and there is no negotiation or talk to change his mind. He is like a rock. I'm 18 now, and still he wont respect my decisions, or let me commit my own mistakes, and learn. What can I tell him, or do to get him to loosen up on the leash? I'm afraid if I dont come up with an idea, our relationship will only get worse and worse...

Well let me give you the background....me, my girlfriend, her brother, her sister, and her friend were all hanging out the other day and we were planning on doing something. Well the girls wanted to go out shopping at the mall, but me and my girlfriend's brother wanted to go to a ball game so the person vote was 2-3, but me and her brother think that men's vote should count double so it made it 4-3 and since we were the ones driving we went to the ballgame. Was this wrong? Some guys at work said it was messed up.

Or will there be too many "discriminations" to make it feasible?
I mean it takes 169 or so hours to get a hair cutting license so why not a child license. I know giving someone a bad haircut can really screw up someone's life.

When it comes to vacations, I always feel like my family gets cheated out of time with my husband and I. He has 2 weeks a year and I have 4weeks. Over the last 5 years his time is used on his family, and they expect me to go too. But when it comes to my family I visit by myself most of the time. What would you do in my case??

The next episode I'm doing for the Greg Behrendt show is all about FEAR....

Are you afraid of something thats AFFECTING your life on a daily basis? The fear of love, the fear of french fries, the fear of heights, the fear of spiders, the fear of Paris Hilton operating machinery? ...anything. Is it keeping you from having a normal life?

If you don't live in the LA area and we use you for the show, we will fly you out and put you up in a hotel. This show will tape on either the 18th or 19th of Sept, so be quick with the responses and pass this along to your friends.

To start with,I have just graduated and working for good company
with a decent payscale
Everday when I return home from work..its war.
My mom and dad always quarrel and fight among themself's..
I have to patch things up all the time,At times I work for 12 hours straight and come home ,try to stop thier fighting and cook the dinner.
Nowadays its getting really worse,My dad who is 60 yrs old is getting more short-tempered and scolds me and my mom most of the time for some reason or the other,
I try to avoid fights keeping in mind that my dad is old and a heart patient too.
I have no problem with my mom(59) but she at times starts
complaning about my dad and talks for hours on end about him !
Which sometimes gets on my nerves.
I have managed for a few years now,But today my mom told me one fact that got me really scared..My mom said that my dad once kicked me repediatly with his boots when I was around 6 yrs old!
I am really confused what to do and dont want to leave them!

She is forced to use my last name in regards to school and doctor visits, but I see on some of the bills she has sent me for things such as gymnastics that she is using her new last name. She thinks this is acceptable and can't understand why I'm hurt and upset about this. He lives about 1000 miles from me, but I still see him every 6-8 weeks and have him during the summer.

Am I wrong for having a problem with this?

I thought it was a second cousin, but someone told me a second cousin was your parent's cousin's kid. So, what is your cousin's kid?

See my mom is driving me crazy because she is constanly calling me by my dad and my cousin's names. For example, whenever I do something that they might do she calls me Richard, my dad, or Joy, my cousin. Whenever I ask her to stop she gets mad at me. So how do I get her to stop?!?
