most colonies are set up for families, and usually single males are not welcome by themselves.

This would be best answered by a nudist, but from the outside looking in,(and I have known some nudists), it is because they believe that the human body is not an object of shame and that the purpose of clothing is for protection from cold, excessive sunlight, etc., not for concealment. Primitive tribes get along quite well with nothing but a loincloth to protect private parts from bugs and being scratched by vegetation and their kids do not grow up to be perverts. When in the privacy of their own homes, clothes are not necessary. I'm sure that nudist cooks wear aprons to protect themselves from hot spatters from the stove.

Animals do not placed on clothing in spite of everything. because nudity has absolutely nothing to with sexuality...we are born naked and also be naked when we die...there is nothing to hide.
