you can always rely on some of the people on here to be prudes with no sense of humour

I am 38 years old.I was married to a wonderful man for 14 years who had passed away.I had dated before him and I have dated after him.But I wonder if there are very FEW men like him.
What do women look for in a man? Lots of qualities..Sure, its important that they are kind hearted, romantic, understanding ect.. but Im not sure if many of you understand how important HARDWORKING is...
My husband worked 12 hour days and on the weekends (and many nights after work) was taking care of our home and family.Working in the yard, fixing something broke, running the kids places, ect..having a maintained home for his family was important to him.Growing up, my father was the same way.I had a drippy facet for 5 days and finally had to ASK this guy I was living with to fix it.I have to ASK him to take the garbage out when its full.He has so many other good qualities but lacking in this one.
I admire a hardworking man!! I miss my husband!!!

My wife an I have been together for 14 years (married for 8). We're having some difficulties in our relationship and have been going to counseling for a year now. There's no cheating or anything aweful. I think we still love each other . . we've just grown apart.

I'm hopeful things will work out, but my big issue is that I feel like I live with a roommate. From my vantage point, my wife does not know how to be a part of an intimate relationship. No touching, no niceties, no closeness. She's never been that way. I guess I know what I was getting, but I find it odd that this is so hard for her to do. She doesn't nurture the relationship/me at all. I'm not looking for her to coddle me . . . but some basic intimacy would be a nice thing to have in our relationship.

What does it mean when someone doesn't want intimacy. I mean . . .. she literally doesn't touch me other than when we have sex. Does it hint at some kind of abuse earlier in her life??? I just don't get it.

so i have these cousins and they're like 4 or 5 years older than me as is my older brother, but when they used to come and visit a few years ago i obviously was pretty annoying and wanted to hang out with them all the time. but now that i'm 15 and they're like 19, i feel like we can share the same feelings and hang out without me being annoying. i wanna show them that i'm totally not that little girl anymore, and that over the visit, they're gonna start wanting to hang out with me more than eachother (especially my girl cousin who just turned 19 cause she's awesome).

I´m 16 (but feel more like 19), 162 cm, I have short, light brown hair and my eyes are kind of green-brown. I love to read and have fun, I dance tap dance and Irish dance, I used to play football/soccer (10 years of experience there, but then school got a lot more intensive). I want to be a doctor (not for the money, but for the chance to work with something meaningful and interesting). I have a little, black dog which I absolutely adore and I play the piano (occasionally... I´m don´t train every day). I love to make people feel happy, if only for a little while at a time. My favourite band is Yellowcard (can´t wait for their new album, Paper Walls) and I have a blog (http://missteatime.spaces.live.com/). I´m pretty shy with people I don´t know well. I´m currently vegetarian (and I doubt I´ll stop being one) and I don´t smoke. I don´t drink yet and I doubt I´ll drink a lot when I´m old enough (I could now too, but I don´t because I respect the law) So, does it sound interesting at all?

I am planning to marry this man as soon as he gets his divorce. I have been involved with him for over a year. We have to wait about 10 more months before he can get a no fault divorce. We don't want to go through a fight in court with depositions and stuff so we are waiting until we can do it by just filing some papers, no-fault.

I am filing my own divorce papers next month for the same reason. I wanted to wait until the two years were up so that it can just be done with paperwork.

His wife still won't acknowledge me. I like her kids (3 and 6)and they know and like me. His parents and I spend time together. My daughter (8) and his kids get along.

Why can't she just accept this? Her husband and I fell in love. He is with me now.

I hate thinking that this will be one of those "who get to go to the wedding" situations. How long will it take her to just accept this?

In every relationship I have ever been in I have had to "wait" in one way or another for something...whether it be to actually date someone...or be able to share them with my family...you name i've waited for it...and quite honestly im tired of waiting...and i have been in this relationship for a year now...and things have been really tough between us because of the crap my family has put us through...i am going to be going to tennessee for 6 months...and my bf decided that we need a break so that when i come back home we can have a fresh start...because the way we are going now our relationship is headed for the crapper...we both love each other and are thinking long term here...but does this seem right??? or am i being played!! i mean i trust him and everything...because he has proven himself over and over in this area!! but do you ever just get tired of waiting?

I put in my 2 week notice at my job last week which is in GA. I am getting married this weekend and moving to DC. The wedding is in Maryland.

I really want to retract my 2 weeks and make it 1 because otherwise I would go to Maryland Friday morning, get married saturday, and return to GA on Monday to finish my last week and get the rest of my things.

I'd really just like to pack up and go. What would you do?

I have been in this relationship with this guy for 5yrs (i am 26 and he is 27)
He is working, has an apartment and well to do
Recently i got pregnant

The points are these
1. He doesnt want me to abort the baby (though its 3wks) on religious basis we are catholics and our CHurch forbids that
2. Just recently he told me his parents/people doesnt want him to marry me because we are not from the same state and he wouldnt want to go contrary to that but want me to have the baby in my parents house
3. On my own side i dont mind marrying him and having the baby because the love is there
5. My parents and my people cant allow me to stay in my parents house and have a baby (though i have not told anybody except the guy in question about the pregnancy)
Now am confused
i dont know what to do before the pregnancy develops more than it is now

I met a great girl on the net.I totally fell in love with her.I still love her very much but there's this huge problem. In the beggining when we started talking,I gave her wrong info about me.Nothing too much, just about my lifestyle, about my studies..probably because I didn't think that it could grow into something so big..or maybe because I wanted to impress her so much. After the first couple of conversations I realized that I must tell her about the real me,but I didn't.I tried a few times in an indirect way,but I didn't have the courage.Maybe because she told me a million times that she trusted me unconditionally and I didn't want to disappoint her.We were talking for over a year but when time came to actually meet her,I scared off and decided to stop contacting with her.Stupid, huh?I know that she will accept me for who I am, but still..it was a lie that grew so big and I'm not sure how she would react to that. What should I do?It's been over a few months since this happened.

i was walking by my neighbours house late one afternoon. as i walked past her garden i noticed her dog sitting on the porch. i thought nothing of it and continued walking, until, i dropped my bag and the contents spilled out onto the lawn.

i bent over to pick them up and the dog just pounced on me and started dry humping me.

i'm so confused, i feel like it was my fault!

I have never in my life ever thought I could be so weak. How can I love the very same person that inflicts pain in my heart? Dr. Jeckle & Mr. Hyde. At night he beats and degrades me, reminding me of how much he desires to end my life, how I am the one who has him crazy...how I'm the one to blame for his erratic behavior. I cry myself to sleep, only to be awakened to the nightmare once again...now I'm believing that I am worthless. How can I get the courage to believe in myself again?
