A friend of mine, 13 yo,got a really harsh punishment for bad behavior. She joined bad crowds, did wrong stuff, though she's a good girl For 1 month the girl, except for school time, has to be in bed all the time, including weekends. No TV, computer, etc. Friends just for homework at her bedside. She has to do her homework and study in bed. On week days lunch w/ the family but dinner in bed, on weekends, both in bed. The girl, of course, is allowed to use the bathroom, for the strictly necessary time.
Her mom has an electronic device similar to a camera, a kind of sensor that can register when the girl gets up and comes back to bed. So her mom can control her punishment without having to watch the girl 24/7. With such device she can know how many times the girl left her bed and for how much time, and decide if it was reasonable for bathroom needs or not. I think this punishment is simply cruel and can cause serious psychological and physical damages. In my opinion its even child abuse

There's this guy I've been seeing in my yoga class. This may seem weird, but you are not supposed to do certain poses when you are menstruating. I felt fine during class. I did what the teacher instructed me to do in my case. After class, my friend and I went out for a bite to eat and when we were getting back in the car I noticed I had a little "accident" on my seat when I had gotten out previously. It wasn't a lot. But he had time to see it, I'm sure of it. I was SOOO embarrassed. That's the first time that has happened to me especially in front of a guy. I feel like he thinks differently of me now.

A dear friend of mine is scared to leave a bad marriage because he does not wish to be out on the streets and not able to see his son. I do not live in CA, but have been told it is a 50/50 state and although because the baby is breatfeeding would probably at first allow most custody to his wife, that eventually he will get 50% custody. He is a great father, just not a great partner with his wife. I have also been told it is a no fault state which makes things even easier. Anyone who knows firsthand, or has a good link (not so some lawyer's site) please respond. I am trying to do some footwork for him. Thanks!

I have a friend that has a father that is very strict on her because she is the oldest child. She has two younger siblings that both have ADD. They are expected to do virtually nothing except keep up their grades. My friend, on the other hand has to keep up her grades, behave decently, do housework, keep up her job, and be respectful to her parents. The dad does nothing whatsoever around the house and plays solitaire and smokes all day. The dad tells her that she has no reason to be depressed and all she thinks about is herself. The dad constantly makes threats to all of the kids and thinks that he is the perfect parent and nobody should tell him what to do. The mom can not do anything about it because her culture does not allow her to stand up against him or divorce him. The school counselor told her that unless the dad hits her, he cannot be charged for being abusive and there is nothing anybody can do at this point until he hits one of them. Can anybody help me out? Much thanks!

Lastnight me and my sis was watching t.v. downstairs in the living room. My mom's room is upstairs so we heard the floor shaking and the bed shaking. My sis thought it was the babies but I knew it was my bf fcking my mom. Im so pissed. Here's why this happened:

I'm still a teen about to graduate highschool soon. My mom thinks I should date guys my age 17 and under.

My boyfriend is in his 20's. He's already got a job and is making tons of money. He also lives right next door to us. He lives with his mom, sis and his brother and his brother's girlf

My mom is like in her 30's or 40's. She is married. Let me rephrase that she is MARRIED to my dad but too bad he hasn't been in America for years so he has no idea she had been consistantly cheating on him.
I don't care if my mom fcuks other guys but my bf ? What the ****.

I couldnt tell her that he was my bf since Im young and hes way older than me but we're in love. I was gonna tell her later on in life.

My husband is a great guy about 98% of the time, he is a good father, good provider, great lover, great husband, etc. But there are a few things I hate:
When he is grumpy, sometimes it seems for no reason at all
he is ALWAYS mean and moody around my family. I barely see them because of him now. I know they are difficult but they are nice and do nice things for us for instance took the kids for us the whole weekend for free, and did he even say thank you? No, he grabbed them and didn't look any of them in the eye and was like sitting in the car waiting for me (jerk?) I mean I know he's tired and they talk alot but can't a NORMAL person say something like "I'm tired, thanks so much for taking the kids, I'm gonna take off and catch up with you when I'm not so tired?"

and,,,holidays he acts like a jerk too. So we had an excellent anniversary weekend. Now today it's our anniversary and he's being a jerk, maybe because he already gave me a nice weekend and doesn't have to be nice 2day?

I have a son that is 5 years old. I have had him in my custody since December 05'. His mother got incarcerated then and just recently got out. Before she went to jail (November 05') she filled for payroll deducted child support. I never payed since I had him in my care. Since then they have been taking all of my income tax return stating that it is what I owe for that year. I have called and called about this issue. They say in order to stop this I have to prove custody. I can not do this because I never went to court saying that I had custody.(Didnt know I needed too) Also she just received her first check of 2800.00 which they just took out of my 06 return. So I guess my question is: How do I go about proving custody? Do I have legal custody? What do I need to do? I have talked to lawyers but they give virtually no info on there intial free consultation. And can not afford outlandish prices they charge. Any advice much appreciated. I live in TN if state is issue for answer. Thanks

If you tell a friend that you are trying to get to know more to call you on the phone instead of emailing all the time because it would be faster and easier.. and you give them your number.... and they tell you that email would be better now because they lost thier voice and it is very scratchy and squeaky... what would you think?

We've talked and have been interested in eachother for a very long time, but since we've started dating, he has this philosophy of the girl paying for her own dinner/movie tickets etc.. He's 21, junior in college and very well off, weahlthy family..me, not so much..more like struggling to pay my way. It's only getting worse..Once, he invited me to see a movie with him and then was upset that I didn't have cash on me to pay for my own ticket..he covered it and then said, "well..next week you owe me a movie"

This happens on several occasions and it's obviously not acceptable..at his age, do you think he could be changed if I only talk to him? Friends of ours notice too and think the same,

If you're seeing a girl who you find attractive and care for do you care how rough she might look in the morning or if she looks a lot different? I've heard loads of girls say something like 'look at me now, imagine if he saw me like this!' and some of my friends are really insecure

but do you guys really care

So I have to write a paper for a class and one of the main questions in the paper is: What is marriage, most fundamentally, for?

I would just like to know what others think about this question and get an idea of what you think.

Answer if you're married, single, divorced, what have you. Or even if you think there is no fundamental purpose, tell me why.

Thanks! :)

Okay I am confused to say the least. I am married 26 and have been married for 8 years and we have children together. My husband and I married young I was 18 he was 21. We knew eachother for only 6 months. Our whole marriage has been a roller coaster. We fight alot. And there has been both physical and verbal abuse on both sides....but mostly his. He has a very bad anger problem. I dont feel in love anymore. But I feel selfish to leave because of the kids. We are no longer fighting. But we dont really act like we are married either. IE I dont think I am in love anymore after all the things we have been through. I love him but I am not in love with him. He says that is stupid because no one stays "in love". I dont feel like he appreciates me or the kids. And he is reluctant to change. I still care for him deeply and would never want to hurt him or see him hurt but I also want to be happy. We also have isues with his family...they are very demeaning to me and my family. I feel very stuck
