Probably this is the example that they saw at home and firure that this is the way a guy shows his "love" to a gal. Another thing might be very low self esteem. They figure that I don't deserve any better than this (guy) and they don't set their standards any higher.
Also, they are so anxious to get out of a situation at home, they get together with the first guy that pays any kind of attention to them. VERY SAD AND SOMETIMES VERY DANGEROUS!!!
I gal I know says that she doesn't feel complete without a man in her life ( nevermind that the guy can't read at a 2nd grade level and although he does work steady - he NEVER TAKES A BATH WHEN HE COMES HOME FROM WORKING IN THE FIELDS!!!! YUCK!!!!!!

They like being shown "tough love". lol
Honestly sometimes love is blind. A man who loves you will not hit you. The Bible says a man should love his wife like he loves himself. I don't know a man who beats himself up.
