This guy's mother was married 7 times. He was born to the 2nd husband. Then his mother married 5 more times more times after that. I think she still ended up alone. So, he had 5 step-fathers. Does this affect a person. This guy seems to be really nice and he says he really likes me but he seems detatched to an extent. I don't know if it is the 7 years age difference between us or a fear of comittment.

My mother-IN-LAW is the person in question. In 25 years of marriage all of a sudden she refuses to take her husband on out of town conferences, she refuses to eat lunch with her daughters, she’s a simple secretary in the federal government but she goes to work on the week ends. She goes to work at 6:00AM and doesn't come home until 5pm. She is no workaholic, she’s actually pretty damn lazy. Now you ask, why does it concern me? Well she’s a self-righious bi tch. And my father is the nicest man in the world. A simple man but a good man. I also don’t want her teach any of her tricks to her daughter (My wife). So what do you think do I have a keen eye or do I just hate the bit ch?

or have her ask you out?
I'm getting to the stage where I cannot tell whether this guy likes me or not. It's like he seems to be totally in to me then the next minutue he is just quiet again. I don't know whether I should tell him how I feel. But there is no answer to 'I like you.' I want to talk to him but I want the conversation to be meaningful.

Am I unreasonable for wanting to say no? He works an hour away from home and already plays volleyball on Thursdays. He leaves for work at 7 a.m. and doesn't even come home on volleyball nights until 10:30 p.m.. If he added a second night during the week he wouldn't see his two little girls ages 1 and 3 two days a week.

Well ive worked with this girl for 4 months now, and ive finally worked up the courage to ask her out. Im a fulltime college student, and i work full time. I have a night class tonight from 5pm till we get done, usually 9. My plan is, if we get out by 9, im gana shoot down to Burger King (where we work) and ask her out. If she says yes then when i leave im gana go to the store and get her a rose, on my way back to school im going to leave the rose on her car, without her knowing so she finds it when she gets out. dose this sound like a good plan? also what exactly should i say? Ive never done this before, and im so shy i just dont want to screw it up. Should i just ask her if she wants to see a movie with me on tuesday? or do i ask her if she wants to go on a date sometime? i have no idea what to say, please help me!

I am getting married on july 7th by Justice of the piece. Please tell me your thoughts on my party and dinner ideas.I plan to invite our family which includes parents, brothers, their children, uncles, aunts and cousins to a dinner on the 6th because the 7th is booked everywhere!!but of course I still want to celebrate with my fam.The next day we'll get married in the morning and I was thinking of having a "party" at night for my friends, the homies you know the co-workers and neighbors.Does it seem a little rude or impolite to do it this way?For one I'm on a budget and two some of my family members are a bit reserved and somewaht judgemental and though I know the Party will be awesome I for sure don't want them to say "Oh my gawd, look at them, ugh!" Nice dinner for family, Party for friends what do you guys think?Rude?impolite?great idea?let me know thanx.I wouldn't want anyone to think that they're not important enough to entertain! It's more affordable for me to do it this way

He still wants me to call him, but im trying not to because i want to end the relationship for good. It is so hard to not call him, it feels like im on drugs, i am addicted to talking to him, and if i want to call him, and i dont, i get very antsy and i cannot sit still or focus, i feel like im ADD when that happens. My friends have told me to just call them whenever i want to call him, but it doesnt work. What can i do to get over this??? its so hard. I know he is not right for me, he cheated on me. so why do i want to be with him so badly?? why cant i just walk away and be done with it??

Women - have you ever tried to "change" your man? For example - you met a guy who's a big sports fan, and tried to stop him from watching the game every Sunday? Or you got with a jeans and t shirt guy and tried to make him a suit and tie guy? Why do some women try and change their men? Wouldn't it be better to either accept him for the man he is - or to go find a man who is more your type?

I know that a lot of people on this board, particularly Americans are strongly opposed to cousin marriages. But don't you realize that these are the same type of people who once also opposed interracial marriage and until very recently homosexual marriages? But now, if you were to ask a question regarding interracial or gay marriage, they will all start talking in support of it. Why?

It is indeed shocking to find that Americans despite being technologically advanced, are still socially backwards and fighting age-old stereotypes. I mean it's ok if you think marriage between cousins is wrong, but who are you to police two cousins who truly love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together? The same way if you think being gay is wrong, but you don't want to force your view on two gay people who are in love with each other - right?

I'm trying to access some kind of marriage record database but all the ones I've come across require you to pay. Does anyone know where I can find a MARIAGE DATE of someone who got married in CANADA? I need a site that has records available for free.

He works as an RA which pays for his dorm fee, but we pay his tuition and have been giving him $100 per month for spending money. He never says "thank you" and so in January, I told him that his father would be transferring the money. Of course he forgot and our 19 year old didn't ask for it so he didn't get it in Feb. Now it's March and his father forgot again, I have e-mailed our son and told him (twice) that he needs to remind his Dad if he wants his allowance, and if he doesn't remind him by the 5th of the month, he will forfeit his allowance for the month. I just don't want him coming to me 5 months from now asking for $500 in back-allowance. Am I being too harsh? Is this unfair?
