Because society makes it so, people spend so much money on their weddings that they start the happiest time of their lives in debt! There is a show on TLC that does SPECTACULAR weddings for $5000. It is all in how you budget and shop and the amount of time you are willing to put into it. there are lots of people myself included who help do budget weddings its all in how creative you can be and the kind of deal you can get on what you want.

I spent about $15,000 for a guest of 120 people. Just right a list of what u want and how u want your wedding to look, window shop on line and in stores if u know someone who owns a buisness ask them to go to discount places. Sometimes these place will let u buy items for cash up. Buy magzines cut out ideas. Gather a plan and stick to it. JC Penny's has a great wedding planning book they give u when u register with them.
1) get your guest list together
2)Get all ideas you want for ur wedding down on paper.
The more u can do yourself the more money u save
caution it is a lot of work and time, that is why weddings cost so much u are paying for time and labor.
I know I did mine it took a year to get it straight but I got it down and it was beautiful.
good luck and don't give up.

10,000 and I tell you i thought i could get around a bunch of money. I did get a little under the 10 grand but it still was expensive thank goodness I had our parents to help out with the expenses. It was all worth what I paid and try to find the cheapest on things and remember you want it to be special so some things can be more. My wedding was wonderful and some ways to save money is to find a photographer that is freelance and make things like the dresses and flowers and dress the plain things up yourself. remember to look in a wedding planner book and time yourself on the things like it says.

average wedding is about $20,000. But I can honestly say you can have a beautiful wedding for less than $7000 IF you do everything yourself. As in invitations, programs, flowers, center pieces,decorations....etc. You need the patience and the wedding party to help you. My cousin is getting married this summer and fortunately she has all of us to help her with decisions and actually making all the stuff. We found a reception hall that has great food and only $15.00 a person. She is having close to 200 people.

The cost of a wedding depends on many factors:
1). How many people will be invited/in attendance?
2). What will you be serving for the wedding meal?
3). How many layer wedding cake? How many tiers? What wedding topper? (You can go cheap or extravagant).
4). How many in your wedding party? You must purchase a gift for each of them.
5). Will you rent a hall? Hold outside at one of your parents' homes?
6). Will alcohol be served?
These are just a few of the factors to consider before anyone can be of any help to you.....

The average wedding cost is $25,000-30,000. But it is absolutely possible to do it for a lot cheaper, more like $10,000-$15,000.You just have to be really careful what you pick out and don't be so greedy on having stupid pointless things for the wedding. Also, if you make a lot of things yourself, it will save you a lot of money. By the way, the word "wont" is spelled W-A-N-T

That all depends on what you do. You could have a simple ceremony and reception that you only serve cake and punch which would be very inexpensive. You could do a big wedding but do the flowers, food, party favors, etc. yourself and save money that way as well. There is tons of information on the web that could help you.
Good luck!

Depends on how many guests and where you live.
My husband & I got married 2 years ago in NJ and spend $30K. However, my friend is getting married in July and her reception alone is $40K....probably going to end up being about $60K.
You can do a park or a backyard for under $10K I bet.
