How can I find the date of marriage for someone online for free?

I'm trying to access some kind of marriage record database but all the ones I've come across require you to pay. Does anyone know where I can find a MARIAGE DATE of someone who got married in CANADA? I need a site that has records available for free.

Why don't you search canadian newspapers with their names? They may have posted an engagement or marriage announcement. Just google their names or you can search their hometown paper if you know around the date they got married.
