I started dating him in may 2005, 5 days before my 16 bday. he will turn 20 in june. i lost my virginity to him. my parents didnt like that so they made me break up w him that year (2005) they saw that it didnt work so they told me that i could be w him. cause they did want me lying to them. so then we still dated. by june 2006 he joined the army.. they didnt like that.. they thought he was taking the easy way out to college. but yea he came for xmas break and they started being stupid and this time made me break up w him for real. they threatened to send me back to my country if i kept our relationship. i couldnt. he left back to finish trainin and we have been hiding our relationship, he brought me a ring and we are getting married in july. his mom is against it too. but a lot of ppl told me. (not only teen friends) i should go for it cause they cant make not love him. we have talked about everything. college etc. we have been through a lot more than this do u think u should do it?

I was 17, he was 24. Now four years later, I still think about him. He doesn't consume me, but he is still so present in my thoughts and in my heart. PLUS he has been keeping contact, calling me every couple of months or so just to touch base. He recently wanted to get together, but I declined because I'm in a long term relationship. I haven't seen him in over 2 years, and even though I was happy I made the ethical decision not to get together with him, I still think about him all the time. We were never really friends, and the breakup wasn't disastrous, he wanted to be with other people, and I was very sad but not devastated...but our paths seem to cross ever so slightly every now and then. Sometimes I dont' care, and other times, I feel like a schoolgirl again...something nobody has ever made me feel. Should I just try to forget about him once and for all? Or is this a case of unfinished business leading to emotional baggage?

My bf and I have been together for 3 yrs and we live together.. He works in a bar so he works at night and I work during the day. At one point we were arguing quit a bit . We spoke about breaking up because we werent getting along very well . We seem to be getting along better now and maybe try and work things out. About a month ago the same week we talked about breaking up and things were bad,he came home late from the bar and had a couple of drinks, when I found him passed out at his computer , I moved his mouse to see what he was looking at and it was an email to a barmaid at his job who is in Australia and it said that he missed her, asked about her trip and at the end he wrote that he was thinking of her. not right away but he admitted feeling vulernable and they got along good so he wrote her causethings were bad between us and it was nice to have a conversation with out arguing. he assures me that he isnt interested and that they are friends, he had a moment of weakness??

My sister is getting married this Spring in an outdoor, garden wedding. Being a very traditional family, we wanted the guests to throw rice as the newly wedded couple exit the garden. We were told that we could not throw rice but had to use rose petals or bird seed.

What in the world is wrong with throwing rice? It has been done for hundreds of years.

It's no secret that many girls date and or marry older guys. However, I have noticed in the past few years that many younger girls (18-21) will not even look at older guys. For instance, on this episode of Blind Date that I watched, this pretty (and sheltered) 21 year old blonde from LA went on a date with a mellow (and mature) 28 year old guy. In the end, things didn't work out and the girl said that she wanted to date someone who didn't have "experience" like her (which is a completely stupid reason) in the dating field. Anyway, I noticed that many girls still claim that they will date older guys, but I'am seeing otherwise. It seems that many girls are now viewing older guys as creeps or too much like "their dad" (even if they are only 2 years older than them). So what is REALLY going on here?

Feeling low again now, need your advice- almost ex husband controlled what I wore, didn't let me EVER go over to coworkers (girls) houses, was very angry and belittling. Now that I've left I realize day and night I tried to not make him angry - stupid things like the papertowel being wadded up cleaning the window, pot lid upside down on the counter, etc. but all day long, everything I did. Tried to get away from him once in an arguement he grabbed my arm and left bruises to keep me from leaving. Charged at me one night and screamed, yelled, pushed me with his body (knocked me back about a foot), swinging, but I ducked and he didn't end up hitting me. Wouldn't let me out of the house till I begged. Thrown things, Now going through divorce and he has an excuse for everything. But the whole picture is scary. Tonight I'm feeling low and wondering if it was really "abuse" or what? He says it's normal couple fights?? Is this normal?

I am interested in a guy. He's great but he is very very thin. Most people look at him as not being "manly". This doesn't matter to me at all. But, I have heard that others (especially other men) judge a man based on the looks of their wife or girlfriend. I am definately not the most attractive woman on the planet. I want what's best for this guy. So I don't want people seeing us together and thinking "Man, he must be a loser, look at what he's stuck with!" Should I let him find someone more attractive so people will be saying, "What a stud!"??

He denies wanting to break up or date anyone else and says he has a lot on his mind lately. He's been extremely distant since my daughter and I were in a car accident last week. He believes in that whole "we're on a break" thing and I'm wondering if he's taking one without telling me. A friend thought the accident might've freaked him out because he realized how much he cares for us. Not sure. Help please!
