we have been together off and on now for four years and we are getting up there in age ( i will be 27, he will be 32). i am just scared that i will have waited around too long for him to change his mind and when he doesn't i will feel too old to get into the dating scene again.

Read "He's Just Not That Into You" by Greg Behrendt. When guys say that, it means he just doesn't want to be married to you...in fact after you realize that this relationship is going nowhere, this dirtbag may very well end up married to the next chick he meets. There's a whole chapter in the book devoted to this I believe. It's definitely worth the read, stop wasting time with this loser and find that guy that does want to marry you--come on, you know you deserve it :)

If he has been married before then I would say he might not want to remarry. But if he hasn't been married before, I wouldn't pressure him into it. It will just drive him away. If you know it wasn't meant to be for the two of you and you have a feeling it's not gonna work, I would suggest you start dating other people.
