I'm in school too, and when I'm doing nothing but studding I sooo badly want to read a good fiction book in comfy jammies in bed. So maybe, take her out for dinner or something of the like (to spend time together away from school) get her some jammies, a book by her fav. author, new sheets for her bed maybe a new pillow too, and I'm sure if nothing else she could always use $ all college kids can, right. Good Luck and Happy Birthday to you mom( i mean u brought her into this world right and u must be proud that she is in med. school).

It depends on how much your budget is.
I know I would love a new car and if my parents got me that omg i'd just be so elated i think I'd die.
Okay so thats really expensive. if she likes jewelry a nice tennis bracelet would be good.
How about finding out what her fav clothing store is and getting her a good amount gift card.
You could take her to a show and buy her a new mp3 player or a new cell phone. That would be awsome.
HAHA now i can't stop thinking of stuff I want. Lately all I get are gifts for my newborn son lol.
Oh and if she already has a car XM or Sirus satelite radio is really great. you pay monthly but its not expensive and I think its a really good gift Idea.

I don't know where you would find one.. maybe your doc could help you.. but my doc has one and says she could not live without her's...
It's like a palm pilot.. but it has medical stuff in it. She can look up medication. It's like having an entire PDR with you all the time. Once she graduates she can upgrade it and actually link it to a computer and upload her patient files to it. So if she gets a 2am call, when she calls the patient back, she has the file right in her hand (no pun).
I just thought that it was the greatest thing in the world for a doctor to have.
Happy hunting.

I'm in the same boat. My son turns 25 on the 11th. I'm getting him a card with money in it, and taking him to dinner. He's saving up to go to some training camp, so money is the most helpful thing in his case, I guess.
You could make her up a gift basket too, with some comfy pajamas, a gift card to a book store, some bubble bath, a candle and maybe some microwave popcorn...kind of as a 'night of relaxation' in a basket! You could make up a gift certificate saying "Good for taking the phone off the hook, locking the door and having a sanity night."

Being that your daughter is 1, she'll never remember it, planning a cinderella party for her sounds to me that it is really for you. Save your money and spend it on your husbands party. Have a few friends for your daughter but make it ez. Buy a dollar tiara from dollar store and some film. In my experience , (11&9 year old) save the fun for the kids till they are 5.

How about a gift certificate for a massage/pedicure/manicure. Or better yet, you go with her and spend some time together.
