Recently my mother took 1 week off from work and flew 1500 miles across the country to stay with me after I had back sugery. I want to send her a "thank-you" gift but I am on a tight budget. Flowers are just too darned expensive. My mom is 63, still works full time (at a stressful job), is VERY low maintenance and not interested in salons, spas, manicures/pedicures etc. She is not high tech (does not have or want a cell phone), but she does have a home computer and enjoys keeping in touch via e-mail. My dad is retired so he usually does the cooking and cleaning. My mom pretty much comes home from work, eats, and falls asleep in front of the TV (they don't have cable or a DVD player). She enjoys taking weekend trips to visit her grandsons (ages 13 and 7). She also enjoys gardening (when in season) but she has arthritis and can't do very much, physically. She is very creative and sometimes makes shadowboxes as gifts. Any suggesstions for a gift, preferably under $30???
