I'm just curious. I know of instances close to home where one stepfather did adopt immediately, and another instance where the stepfather's been married for 9 years, never adopted the child. In the first example, the step was previously married with two kids, and custody was shared between him and his first wife. In the latter, the step was never married before, his wife (also never married before) had a daughter then she got pregnant with their first child together (a boy).

The step's relationship with both kids does not appear to be biased, but now that he and the wife are going through a divorce, he pays less attention to his stepdaughter.

What I wanna know is, why did he never adopt her? Is the way he treats her now the way he's truly felt about her all these years? Or is there something else going on?

Ok, theres a girl i like coming round my house this week for dinner, and i plan on playing something to her on the piano, which without meaning to sound too big headed, i am pretty good at due to the fact iv been playing since i was 4. Now what i cant decide is whether to play somethin fast, technical and complicated like a beethoven sonata which will make her think im amazing on the piano - or shall i play something slow and not too complicated which doesnt show off how good i am to her, but is much more romantic. Girls, what would you prefer to hear if a guy was going to play to you?

I have a freind E.W who cant let her freind go (L.M) . if she sees me with L.M she will freak out and be mad at me. L.M and I can hardly hang out any more, and its hard, the worst part is when ever I go to L.Ms house we have to hide from E.W bhecause they are neighbors, It is really hard. what should I do???? any sugestions.

so my friends over at my house.
and i really want to spend the night WITH her,
and my mom wont let me..
she wont even give me a freakin reason.
btw, its "perfectly fine" with her mom.

also, it is a school night, but whenever my mom goes on business trips, i stay with this friend and its never a problem. :-|

same bedroom, but have their own beds. Can I have my children taken away because of this? Some states do have laws saying that once a child is a certain age they can no longer share a bedroom with opposite sexs siblings. Is it the same in california? or are there any laws regarding opposite sex siblings in the same bedroom?

i was with this kid for 2 years and 5 months and i still love him but i have a new boyfren and i care for him a whole lot i wouldnt give him up for the world. i dont love my ex as much as i use to. I've been engaged since June, and I'm totally in love with my fiance. I was a virgin when we met and have been sexually active with him since July. We've been together since June 2005 and when we first got together we were HOT!!! Now it's almost 2 years later and we now live together and he told me recently and once or twice before that he feels like we are boring. Do you think this is a sign that a break up is near or that it's just time to spice up the romance? I am in a grey area with my ex-girlfriend right now. We were together for 5 years and split about 4 months ago. We had a really great relationship and it was only in the last year that we fell out of sync (she was starting graduate school, moved an hour away, and she wanted to spend time with new friends and doing work). We just felt we weren't making eachother happy anymore, so we split on good terms. Since then, I've made it clear I want a second shot at it, but she says she wants to take things slow and use this time to get over problems we had... but it's clear she wants to be single right now. We talk at least once a week and have met up maybe 6 times. She says I am her best friend and she loves me more than anyone besides her parents. I try not to call her to give her space, but she'll contact me. I am curious if she starts seeing someone if she will stop contacting me. How will she change? Do you try to hide this info from ex's that you care about?

I have fallen in love with this absolutely wonderful man, he loves me as well, but we can never be together. This is the first time I've ever been in love and it's just so heartbreaking to know that we can never be together. He lives in another country and the age difference (which is not much at all, but still does play a factor) matters because of his culture. He will always be dear and near to my heart, and I know we will continue to remain in contact as friends, but how can I get over this? I'm young, and as I said, this is the first time I've ever been in love, and I'm sure of it. Any advice I would greatly appreciate, thank you dearly. The culture difference is not an enormous factor, but it could play a role. I'm not counting on anything, but I am just seeking advice... Thank you..

ok...the deal is that i lose my father recently and i have got to move on because i am SERIOUSLY depressed. He had a massive heartattack and was also an alcoholic.
