same bedroom, but have their own beds. Can I have my children taken away because of this? Some states do have laws saying that once a child is a certain age they can no longer share a bedroom with opposite sexs siblings. Is it the same in california? or are there any laws regarding opposite sex siblings in the same bedroom?

There are no laws pertaining to this in ANY state. It isn't the governments business where your children sleep as long as they are well cared for and there is nothing else going on.

I know from experience because it happened to my family that if your kids get taken for some reason that they wont let you have them back unless the kids have their own rooms. You said you have a boy and a girl one of them is 5 well if you cant afford more than a 2 bedroom then what you will have to do is give the children the rooms and you will have to be in the livingroom or something. Like with me i have 2 brothers and i had to have my own room and my brothers shared one. They can share a room as long as they are the same sex. Usually though they dont just come in and take your kids for not separating them in different rooms usually it is because they suspect that you are doing something bad like drugs or abuse or something like that

Actually there are states that have laws about children of opposite sex sharing a bedroom. Once a child is 5 years old they should have their own room. I know a mother who did get involved with Child Protective Services over this. Call your local DHHR, speak with someone from CPS and ask them. You don't have to give your name.

no. i can tell you right now that i know people who until they were 18 shared a room with at least 2 or 3 (4) people. and these people have been interviewed by social services and nothing happened.

they wont be taken away unless you starve them or something...
