She is the only one who stop her drinking. BUT, you need to get to an Al Anon meeting. Look the orgnization up online and find a meeting near you. They will be of tremendous help to you.

Unfortunately, you cannot stop your mother from drinking. You can let her know how much you love her, and that you want her to be around to see her beautiful grandchildren become adults and maybe even see their wedding day. The real decision to stop drinking must come from your mother. She must reach the point in which she is sick and tired of the alcohol. Just continue loving her---she still needs your love an support even though she may not act in this manner.

One of the best things I ever did for myself was go to an Al Anon meeting. This was after 25 years of thinking I could help my son with substance abuse and alcoholism. Do yourself a huge favor and look up the nearest Al Anon meetings. It is for people whose spouse, partner, family or friends are alcoholics.

Your a family member and can have her commited.
She'll hate you awhile, but keep in mind your doing it for her!! It's called "tough love".
