I have a child myself, I'm female, and am now single. I know most men would say "If I fell in love with her then I'd accept that she has a child" but be honest... would a little bit of you feel disappointed?

I've been with my partner for 4.5 years. It hasn't been an easy relationship. We both have had very bad experiences from previous relationships. My partners ex wife was a serial adulterer, my 1st ex husband was an alcoholic/drug addict, my second ex-husband molested my daughters. I suffer from serious depression as does my partner. My partner has a temper and can on occasions be violent ie breaking things. He has physically hurt me once. I have 6 children, 2 with my partner and I work full time. 3 years ago, he stopped working for 16 months and I had to support the family financially, even though I was pregnant - I worked up to 3 weeks before my due date. We were supposed to get married next year but I have had SERIOUS doubts about the future. I am recieving treatment for my depression but I need space. The situation is being made worse by my partner wanting to know what is happening with the relationship. I just dont know. My feelings are non-existent . I just feel numb

I started seeing a lovely guy about 2 months ago, he is kind and attentive, makes me smile and feel safe when I am with him. I know it is early days in the relationship but I really feel like this could go somewhere, I've known him for a few years, we used to work together. But yesterday he told me he just found out he has a 3 yr old daughter, he didn't know how I was going to react, I think it was good of him to be so honest with me, and to be honest I was more concerned about how he was coping with it, and told him I was there if he needs me. And that I will support him in whatever he decides (in regards to visiting her etc). But it's only today now that I have had some time on my own to think, I feel a little tearful to be honest. I just think it's a shame that if we settle down and have children together that it won't be the first for both of us. Am I being silly? Does anyone have any experience of a similar situation and how did you deal with it?

How do girls want their boys to be?

I'm married to a foreign national who just got her immigrant visa to the U.S. based on us being married. We have 2 kids (2 & 1). I'm in the military stationed in Germany right now but about to move back to the states in a few months. We've been married now for 3 1/2 years but for the past year it hasn't been working out. I don't feel any emotion towards her anymore, I only care for my kids and their safety. If we were to divorce now, she will not be able to live in the U.S. because her visa will not be accepted unless she is married to me. She will have to return to Cameroon, Africa. My kids are U.S. Citizens. Here is the twist. I have recently fallin' in love with another woman and I want to be with her. She knows my situation and is here in Germany working. She is American and she's currently going through a divorce that's almost final. She can't come the U.S. with me when I leave but we want to be together. What steps should I take with each situation?

My mom and I have been butting heads since my Dad died 3 years ago. After he died, she gave me a journal she kept about every day he was in the hospital and what happened.
She talked about their life together on the night that he died. She mentioned that my sister smiled when she was a baby, my brother had dimples, and I was "the problem child".
It hurt me to read that because of the 3 of us, I have the most education, the best paying job, and a positive personality. I overcame alot of obstacles as the result of a stroke at birth, and have been quite successful in life.
What hurt me the most is that my dad had that image of me put in his head the night he died.
I know in my heart that Dad didnt share my mom's view of me, but it still hurts like hell. When I told my mom how it made me feel, she said "well you shouldn't have read the journal then" placing blame on me.
More of the same has happened since Dad died and I want her out of my life. Advice?? Can I divorce her and move on?

sometimes people feel like have a girlfriend in spite of married state, because the wifes expect mainly the family duties as a worker and thus don't fulfil our inherent and emotional needs, so if it's unacceptable to make a girlfriend who compensate our above needs?

My boyfriend recently told me he doesn't really like it when I do this. I don't know about other girls but I sometimes enjoy going "commando" as you guys put it. Especially with nice weather.
He says its not that he's jealous but that its unnecessary. He didn't demand I stop, but just vented that he really dislikes it.
Ironically he didn't mind it at all during the summer when we hung out a lot together, but now that school has started we don't see each other as much. He doesn't want me to do it when we're not together.
It sounds trivial but im curious, is this a sign he doesn't trust me?
