First you have to look at the person's personality, if it suits you or not, get to know the person , see if you share the interests, and ITS OK IF YOU DONT! Because i heard opposites match perfectly!!! And then after you get to know the person you might as well see how he/she looks!!! *wink*wink* ;-)

Trust is number one. You can't have a "life" partner without mutual trust and respect for each others needs and opinions. Commitment is necessary from both people if it is going to last.Friendship is very important...you love the person but do you like them as a perosn....are they your best friend? They should be.

Your question is self-misleading: you will not find a life partner by looking for qualities. Rather, you will find a life partner by figuring out what you pursue in life and then letting people know what your pursuits (values and goals) are and letting them choose to share your pursuits.

Being friends first and foremost. Being able to feel safe with this person. Looking forward to spending time with them. It starts off as lusty, but over time, if you are genuine friends, it becomes something much nicer. Like a pair of comfy slippers.
Then again, sometimes it starts out like this, then something crap happens and stuffs it all up.

hmmm a life partner should be not be selfish, always wanting his/her way to be the final, must be caring, open-minded, willing to share, showing some sign of responsibility and must be a practicing christian if you're a christian too.

humor, somewhat seems yet i attempt to no longer fall into that capture! somebody that i'm able to genuinely talk with and that shares my pastimes.
