My life isn't perfect, but I love what I have.
I have my own home sewing business, so I get to be artistic without working for "the man."
I'm happily married.
I'm artsy and get to be creative at work.
I have great friends and a family who backs up my dreams with support and help.
Any time I start thinking of the bad things in life, I remember my cousin Jenny who had cancer from age one, regular hair loss from repeated chemo, a leg amputated at twelve... and who passed at the age of 21. She always had a smile and hug and never complained about her pain. She was always concerned with how everyone elses day was going and she lived life to the fullest when she was feeling well enough.
I think my life is going pretty well.

Don't be narrow minded! The god damn society makes us think that once we have the perfect job, a couple of friends and a nice romance, our life is perfect. Don't smoke, don't drink blah blah blah. Most people are like that and yet everybody thinks something's missing!
Now I don't say good job, friends and relationships are wrong. It's just all people only settle with these.
I say take a trip to the other side of the earth, get addicted to something (other than drugs), throw a couple of parties and get yourself wasted or something...

It sounds like you're very happy already,it's not a bad thing looking for ways to improve your life but don't worry about it too much.
Just remember, keep loving your job, family, and what hobbies you have. Don't start drinking or doing drugs, and keep your gambling and computer time limited.
As for my life,it's absolutely horrible right now,but for the fact i'll be typing what little good I have,I should be giving you points, not the other way around.
I have my personality which I should be proud of,and good living conditions as far as food and housing goes. I don't have alot of friends, but I do have good friends. That's it. :-|
Good luck.

Yes, I feel that there was something in my childhood that was so infinite and wonderful that I just sorta skipped over as I grew up. Or, said another way, life seems so full of redundancy that it appears dissatisfying and hollow.
One theory is that technology has been changing our "form of life" from a socially-involved lifestyle to one where any unnecessary interaction is dropped at the earliest convience for the cheapest price no matter how upset it leaves us. For example, the mass-marking of cellular telephones leads to them ringing during classrooms, movies, disrupting meetings, family dinners, etc. all these important activities that we used to associate with what it means to be human (physically interacting with one another). We are so caught up in getting the "latest and greatest" that we forget sometimes it is best to set technology aside. We may use the technology to some end, and it may be convenient for us to do so, but there is something fulfulling about doing it the old-fashioned way. Focal activities, like going jogging to the store instead of using your car, or turning your cell phone off during the movie, or forcing your family to eat dinner together instead of microwaving your own pre-packaged processed foods, may help alleviate some of the alienation and hollowness that are unintentional results of technological advancement, effects left behind from the shortcomings of the liberal promise of technology. Technology is supposed to make life "better" but really there are unintended consequences of technology that change us in ways that we did not consciously choose or realize.
Anyway, more specifically to your question, i love my job, i love my family, i love to play on my computer, i love to hang out with my friends, play pool, go bowling, play hacky sack, go to movies, and so on.
I think part of the reason that life seems so hollow is that our imaginations are so vast that we know very well what we really want (mansion, private jet, supermodel spouse, etc.) but we can never get everything we want becasue as soon as we get something on that list, we realize that we didn't actually want it all that bad in the first place (supermodel spouse only sticks around when you have money, mansion makes you feel lonely, etc.). It is sort of an application of the technological idea to the entire realm of being; that is, we know of all these "cool" things that other people have and we construct vast realities in our minds of goals that we wish to achieve, but even if we were to achieve them, there would still be a dissatisfaction that is the result of our innate need to have more than we already have and our realization that what we initally wanted wasn't exactly what we expected. We have these picture perfect views of our dreams but reality has all sorts of intricacies that weren't figured out in the first draft (our imagination).

I would need to know a bit more about you to tell you what you're missing. If you don't have a bf that is what you're missing. Make more friends! start new interests. and rate mine best answer!

my goodness friend you have more now than many will attain in a lifetime please just be grateful for what you have not envious for what you have not.
you have the grass is greener syndrome.
many many people have none of the above.
no food
no job
no love
no family
and worst of all no hope
