Humans, on this earth, are by far the most intelligent. All animals' intellect are based mainly on their instincts. With repetetive learning, and minute skills in problem solving, animals (not including humans) are very limited to their capabilities. The reason evolution to some people is so unbelieveable, is the fact that humans couldn't simply pop-out of the evolution chain with being 700% smarter than any other lifeform. All scientists agree that evolution was nature's way of doing what it had to do to survive. This is called adaption. In the way of adaption, creatures "adapt" to the environment, they need to dig a hole, they grow claws etc etc. It is hard to believe that a creature's way of living became so complicated that it had to develope a brain that was capable of creating jets, computers, and cell phones.Humans most definetely are the "top of the line" species and we were not created by evolution, but by a higher power such as God.

I was given some points on a graph. The points were in year and weight of garbage format. points:- (1991, 523), (1992, 528), (1993,534), (1994, 542), (1995, 551), (1996,562), (1997, 574), (1998, 583), (1999, 594). I plotted these points and made a line of best fit. THe questions are:-
a) Determine an algebric expression that models the amount of waste received each year? (the x axis is years, and the y - axis is weight)
b) Use your model to make a prediction of the last year that the landfill site handled less then 500t of waste.
c)Using the predictions of model, write a short newspaper article on the effectiveness of recycling campaign.

Guys, I dont wanna scare ppl, but yesterday I saw a butterfly!? and I’ve noticed that my grass needs cutting! Its ******* December!!

Does this not strike some ppl as being peculiar??? I mean this is not supposed to happen!

When I see these things, it really scare the hell out of me. I keep asking myself "is it just me who feels like this?" and why do I get the feeling that everyone is just turning a blind eye to the ultimately devastating problem of global warming?

The people I would have thought would try to solve this problem is our Government - the Leaders - the ones with the Power.
They just seem to have this "hush hush" attitude to global warming and seem to be going about there business as if nothing is happening!!!

I have dry ice bought from a store. It is in a long renctangular block. I want to cut the block into equal amounts. After doing this, I don't have any idea how much carbon dioxide is in each amount. I would like to know how I can measure the amount of carbon dioxide in that piece.

CO2 Emissions is one side of global climate change, but deforestation is another.

We keep cutting down forests in rural, suburban and urban areas, how is it expected that the futures will be a "new day" if we are only worsening the quality of air and water?

Eventually, the forests will be gone at large and suburban rural tree cover will get down to a few.

The last year or so we seem to be having ever increasing periods of high pressure. The latest was 1044 mb which lasted for a few days. Very close to the limit of our pressure guage. This is close to the record I remember in this area which was 1046 mb but which happened in mid-summer. Have other people noticed increasing number of high pressure periods and does anyone think this is related to Global Warming

Ok so apparently cfc's are a major contributor to the thinning of the earths atmosphere. Now global Warming is trapping pollution in the earths atmosphere. The thinning of the atmosphere has diminished since cfc's have been banned since the 70's. Now the problem is the atmosphere is getting too thick due to pollution not being able to escape and it is trapped here in our atmosphere. What if we unleash a huge amount of cfcs to bust a big hole in the earths atmosphere to allow the pressure of all this pollution to escape, than allow the atmosphere to repair itself again, and when the pollution levels again get too high we can bust another hole to allow it to escape.

We have seemingly inexhaustible resources of drinkable water from the polar caps and the oceans which may need only recycling ! Only if all the governments focus their attention to this area and on in-land transportaion of this nectar to reach the remote areas with the help of satellite imageries and chemical engineering !
