Humans, on this earth, are by far the most intelligent. All animals' intellect are based mainly on their instincts. With repetetive learning, and minute skills in problem solving, animals (not including humans) are very limited to their capabilities. The reason evolution to some people is so unbelieveable, is the fact that humans couldn't simply pop-out of the evolution chain with being 700% smarter than any other lifeform. All scientists agree that evolution was nature's way of doing what it had to do to survive. This is called adaption. In the way of adaption, creatures "adapt" to the environment, they need to dig a hole, they grow claws etc etc. It is hard to believe that a creature's way of living became so complicated that it had to develope a brain that was capable of creating jets, computers, and cell phones.Humans most definetely are the "top of the line" species and we were not created by evolution, but by a higher power such as God.

I can definitely see where you're going with this. I would like to add that most species of animals took a few million years to evolve, adapt, etc., but humans all of the sudden popped up about 600,000 years ago, right? Hmmm, how could something so smart and capable of such great discoveries be so young. A little mouse took longer then us to evolve, so what gives? How can that be possible? Hard to say, but I do think that there is some other explanation then evolution, maybe God, maybe not. I see what you're trying to say, I agree that there must be some other theory then evolution, but I'm not quite sure that God may be the answer. I think that the answer can be backed up by scientific evidence, I'm just not quite sure how just yet. But, I don't think that you are 100% right.

I recently read in a book about human genes that periods of complex language, tool use, and social behavior can be traced to certain periods beginning about 50,000 years ago to the present...they did this studying the different population groups around the world and tracing certain minute characterists...it seems some behavior can be traced to a mutation that was favorable to survival....I think man has become domesticated over the last 50,000 years and evolved to co-exist with others in a society that adapted to it's surroundings. the last major evolutionary event was10,000 years ago when man began to grow crops in large communities...man probably did not have the ability to function in a society of that size before then...this new adaptation was probably due to a climate change that allowed for it and may have been after a devastating popualtion decline...this was only a few thousand years after the ice packs retreated...you say God, I say it got temperate.....maybe God melted the glaciers
Additionally, I can't build an airplane, make a cell phone, or for that matter make anything more complicated than a ice shack...being able to read (wow, another adaptation) and look at drawings, I can fix things and build things if the directions are good. I cannot make these complex things withour a library at my finger tips...my intelligence really is that of an imatator...I can use logic to figure things out, but really if I was transported back in time as a baby to cave men days, I would not cause steam engines to be created 10,000 years before they were supposed to be invented. What you are talking about is accumulated knowlege and it has little to do with the inate abilities of everyone....it is the product of special people that built their knowlege in an evolutionary way upon those that preceded them...I have made a new word for these people...I call them "scientists"

Evolution is not directed. Man is not the most successful organism by any measure. By number and mass that is probably the single celled critters, or very simple organisms, or even plants. Mammals are a freakishly complex bunch of critters on the outer edges of the bell curve of complexity, and man is right out there. An aberration. Evolution does not strive for complexity or intelligence - it happens by chance in a particular set of circumstances.
