I understand your concern with global warming.
Have you watched The Inconvinient Truth? Its the movie about Al Gore and his study on global warming. Although I don't totally agree with his thoughts, I do agree with him when he says that global warming will happen slowly, but surely.
I think those in power do what they have to do to STAY in power and that is to heed public clamor. And whatever people are clamoring for right now, it's not the fight against global warming. I suppose it has to start with us. If we all clamor for global warming, maybe those in power will give us what we want simply because they know helping us out will keep them in power. We people have to start caring if we want the government to care.
I'm from a country where the image of politics isn't great, so I believe that we simply can't rely on their "conscience" anymore. Some people say politics is selfish. We can always use this to our advantage by angling their selfishness towards global warming and keep the issue in the good side of politics.
It's not really an issue for the present. Global warming is about saving our earth for the future - for the people who'll be using it after we do.
But right now, I suppose you can just cut your grass and try to make your front lawn look good.

I would rather be under 3 feet of snow.
I love snow. I have seen global warming as I've grown up, being 22 now. I wish I had lived years ago.
I am sickened by the state of the world, and realistic in seeing that some huge change where we are not totally and completely reliant on raping the earth will never happen.
That's why the government isn't acting qucikly. It's expensive and takes time. They will cling to the old for as long as possible. What are they going to do? Limit your hydro use? Say what sort of packaging everything you buy should come in? What is the perfect and complete replacement for gas? Population limits? How much power does the government really have to set standards for consumption? Anything they try to do will have an adverse affect on some part of the population for at least a period of time.
There are so many issues involved in the problem.

It is not I am 76 years oil and back when I was 15 ,Christmas was so warm that we had dinner outside. I live in Texas and about 2 weeks ago we broke an old record of 22 deg. F with a temperature of 19 deg. F. ,the old records had lasted for 100 years.
Global warming is based on CO2 from all the fuel we burn . But mother nature took care of that a few million years ago when plants was introduced. Plants take in CO2 and give us back oxygen. There is no problem , it is what the plants need . CO2 has not increased for 30 years that I know of . If we build a space ship for a very long Vogue there will be large plant nursery's there to recycle their air.

It is a problem. Bears in the Spanish mountains have stopped hibernating, birds are not migrating all the way anymore, and many regions have a dramatic change in the weather and temperatures. People are in denial over this, even though the facts are under their noses, and they even have the nerves to call it scientific spin. But it's OK, it's too late to do anything about it anyway. Global warming is a system in itself and as it grows it also gathers speed!

Don't worry about it.
Yes the Earth seems to be in a warming trend at present, but that's generally not something to worry about. Things will obviously be a little different, but it's not going to cause the disasters that some people would have you believe.
Remember that planet Earth is not a stable environment - it is always changing. And it's been hotter than it is today in the past - during the Medieval Warm Period it was 3°C warmer and we could grow grapes in England.
Relax and enjoy the mild weather. Or would you rather be under 3 feet of snow? ;)

When an iceberg makes it to New Zealand the first time since 1950 that far north of the Antarctic, it is not global warming. Scientists everywhere are studying global warming for years and keep receiving money from the government int the form of grants ....not really finding out anything but keep getting money? its a gravy train for the scientists involved..

Earth climate changes periodically, there are cold and warm cycles. Plenty of records certify that they have happened before and will continue happening. You don't have to be scared because of that. That an exceptional warming cycle is happening has not been proven scientifically.
Plants and algae breath CO2 and produce oxygen. Animals and machines do the opposite, so they tend to balance each other.
Still we shall watch and reduce pollution in any possible way because it spoils the quality of our environment.

I'm sure most people have noticed this change. It is happening and apparently no way to stop it. Don't be scared of it just keep living your life the best you can. Maybe read up about it to help yourself to understand it better.
