I recently got a quote to get solar panels for my house and it was over $30,000! I want to do my part to reduce global warming and support renewable energy, but how can the average person do it when it costs so much? Even with federal and state rebates, its way too expensive? Did anyone see 'Who Killed the Electric Car?'

I used to remember our old water purifier from the early '80's. When I opened it, I discovered that our water filter contained black coals? So if I wanted to shovel snow in front of the driveway and place the shovelled snow in a barrel for water conservation purposes, can the snow be filtered (went it melts) if I dumped black coals in a barrel and poured the snow over it or would it be wiser to use the cholorox purifying method instead?

Over population and habitat destruction is responsible for the greatest mass extinction of plant and animal life in 67 million years. The emminent biologist, Edward O. Wilson, predicts the extinction of 50 to 75% of all species alive today by the end of this century. The variability is due to the severity of global warming, and man's desire and ability to confront this disaster in the making.
