Dear child, you should rather try to browse the web that holds a lot of information..rather than waiting for answers in this column ... this would however be useful to have information not available in those sources...However for your guidance I suggest a few alternate fuels for your futher collection of details..

Alternate fuels or energy sources are solar (solar lights, cookers..) wind energy (where the wind velocity is more such as the coastal areas).. wind mills can pump out water from irrigation wells to the garden... Gobar gas plants (though cattle dung is primarily used, any organic waste can generate the fuel gas) and so on...

Actually the gobar gas plants were propagated to reduce the use of forest wood for cooking... to save forests. But the concern of environmentalists and planners is against the use of fossil fuels that generate green house gases... The atomic power stations produce cheap energy but initial investment is heavy for the government...

You will find more information in any source on energy...

Alternative fuels, as defined by the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct), include ethanol, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel*, electricity, methanol, and p-series fuels. These fuels are being used worldwide in a variety of vehicle applications.

Using these alternative fuels in vehicles can generally reduce harmful pollutants and exhaust emissions. In addition, most of these fuels can be domestically produced and derived from renewable sources.

You can get excellent information about the alternate fuel at

Look into the Fischer Tropsch method for turning coal into liquid fuel. South Africa, China, and the USA have projects using that technology.
