I know dead grass burns easily but does green grass burn?

With high temperature the water contained in the grass will evaporate. After that the grass will burn. It may happen in few seconds with a strong fire.

Green grass will smolter if the fire is hot enough and finally burn but basically no. If there is dead grass mixed with green grass in the yard, the fire will travel using the dead grass

Once you boil out the water in it, green grass will burn as well as brown grass.
