They say the the dinasaur population was destroyed because of meteor collision with the earth. If that is true then how come other species and animals survived? Doesn't make any sense.

My parents only recycle paper because if they tried to recycle both paper and plastic/glass/aluminum, the one recycling bin they have would overflow. They said if I got them another recycling bin, they would recycle everything, but I don't know where to get it. Can somebody help?

What I mean is taking measurements on a yearly basis in locations all over the world in many places in every country and analyzed along with every single study that has takin place and all measurements that have been takin so far, to see the complete picture, as well as it can be known, about global warming and how to fix it in the manner that truly is the best that can be come up with, and then actually doing so? Is this the only way this problem is going to get fixed?

My father who usually thinks out of the box ( hmm) has a theory that many of the natural disasters that are occuring are a result of secret underground and ocean nuclear testing? Could my father's theory be half true or is is too paranoid to even think about?

I know that the man controversies of global warming are:
-Whether the climate is changing beyond natural variations.
-Whether human/industrial activity is responsible for the change and if so, to what extent.
-How large future changes will be.
-What will be the consequences of climate change.

but how do opposers of the global warming theory argue with these four controversies...especially the one with whether or not the climate is actually changing

Is it better for the environment to flush the toilet paper, or put it in the trash? (I was going to flush anyways.)

Don't just state your opinion, please - I need details about which one is truly better for the environment. Where does the paper go? Does it get broken down? Which one is faster? Stuff like that....

(I already asked this in the polls category, but I thought environment might get me better answers.)

I am interested in the amount of visible light being emitted by the sun, as a possibility of a factor in global dimming. I have read (somewhere) that duing the Middle Ages the full moon was bright enough that hunting was done during full moon. (Moon reflects the light of the sun)

The East where I live has a greater problem of acid rain than the west. I know that in the East more nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide is produced (which forms acid rain) but there has to be another reason too.

I've been hearing some people theorize that the world naturally will undergo an ice age because of global warming. Where is the evidence that supports this? I'm also curious to see how many people believe that its global warming and the ice age is part of the natural cycle of the earth? And can some one send me a link where is states that humans is in fact a small contributor to global warming...(I don't see how this is true)..thanks.

I would like to understand why many people believe that global warming is inevitable, unstoppable etc? I don't think that its something we can't change. Have you seen the movie the "inconvienent truth"?. It says that we fixed the ozone so why can't we fix global warming? And I read from another person comment on a previous answer...and it said that all we can hope for is to move to another planet....that bullcrappy...what about all the poor animals and life on earth...it would be so messed up to abandon all the life that we helped to destroy here on earth....I really hope the people who think that we can just move to another planet see that...that is not the answer.

I'd like to see what your opinion is on global warming. It's so obviously real to me, and I think people who don't believe it are in denial or too selfish to take action.

I have heard that land that has been used to grow cotton for many years acquires some sort of condition that makes the groundwater unusable. Apparently public water must be brought in to some remote places to compensate for this. Is this true?
