Good question. After dealing with these people for some years I can only say that I have not met any who were lying but a lot are
putting their heads in the sand, either to protect their vested interests or to avoid an "inconvenient truth". The vast majority of scientists support the conclusions. Most of the others are being funded by industrial "foundations". A "must see" is Gore's movie,
"An Inconveniet Truth".Also search the web for "Abrupt Climatic Change". Michael

Little Ice Age 156 years ago. Average Temp 45 Deg. Time frame: 1400-1850. Killed the Vikings at Greenland. Caused Napoleons Defeat in Russia. Probbaly caused wide spread disease and famine. aka Black Plague, Potato famine.
The Earth is warming yes, that is true. but not due to man.
I pose these questions to you:
Man, here on earth had been making fires forever, right. Not so much now, but 2000 years ago. Fire burned every night 365 a year. So, that equals all the so called "greenhouse" gases burning everyday all night, millions of little to large fires.
So, how then can the earth still be here? If, man could not destroy it in thousands of years...We cant in 60 plus.
I am not in Denial or selfish. In the 70's and 80's when the temps averaged 70's world wide for a few years all the sciencists screamed new ice age. BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Prove Gobal warming??

My opinion on global warming is that it's just one more thing for humans to disagree about and debate.
I live in Wisconsin and we have no snow for December.
This is a sign of something.
I don't know if global warming is to blame or the weather is changing and I'm not really sure if humans are to blame or flagellating cows or what.
I do know that there are some serious issues attached to the whole global warming discussion, such as the fact that we are too wasteful and too much consumerism.
The state of Michigan makes it desirable to recycle by adding a fee to aluminum and glass that you get back when you recycle.
What a wonderful concept.
This is what I think needs to happen.
People are generally unmotivated.
Motivate the majority to go to solar panels, reducing waste, reusing, and recycling.
It's a way of living and a mindset but there apparently has to be some other form of motivation, namely money.
Speaking of money, the government could stop production of gas guzzling autos and move the market to hybrid and electric vehicles. Once again, the motivation of money.
There is such a thing as your personal global footprint.
This is something that we can do something about.
Stop the focus on fighting and arguing about how global warming does or does not exist and focus the effort on what we CAN do to help ourselves help the earth.
Stop talking about retarded things like killing massive people or cows or building smaller homes.
Duh, we already have enough homes and violence.
Speaking of duh, I get angry when people are hypocritical but I get angrier when I see people talking smack about someone just because they don't like what that person says.
I think that "global warming" is the wrong verb-age, instead we need to discuss our global footprint and motivating efforts to bring back recycling. Let's focus on what we can do not argue about who's to blame for global warming and whether or not it exists.
Peace.

Say what you will about Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" some of the figures cannot be fudged. The figures on the quantity of peer reviewed scientific articles doubting the effects of global warming being 0% is just not subject to interpretation. They may consider it to be a greater or lesser threat but it's certainly there.
As for the, "we've been burning things for years" and "cows make more than us" arguments. 100 years ago the population of the earth was half what it is now, so they just weren't producing as much. Similarly livestock population has grown to feed that increase in population, so it is still our fault

Let us look at global warming. CO2 is one of the biggest green house gas and surly there is plenty because of all the fuels we burn. WRONG Mother nature eliminated that problem several million years ago when she introduced green plants. Plants absorber CO2 and give us back oxygen ,isn't that great. The plants have done such a great job that there has been NO increase in CO2 for 30 years that I know about. So if CO2 is a lie then very probably global warming is also.

Climatic changes took place many times in the past, even after reliable recordings started.
We shall of course take care of the emissions and pollution we produce, but some people may be using and fueling our concerns seeking monetary and political benefits.
Any problem can only be acknowledged and solved based on reliable scientific data and not on general impressions.
In the link below you will find a list of scientists and their opinions on several facts which had been related with global warming.

Me, I DEFINITELY think that our lifestyle is indeed affecting the environment. I think that global warming is a terrible issue plaguing our planet. Here are some means which I try to practice to reduce global warming. I encourage my parents to let me walk to school instead of they driving me. I am person that studies Environmental Science therefore I try my best to implore to people means of keeping a healthy environment. All I do is try best to ensure we have a clean environment by telling them about the effects of global warming. Right now its critical that we educate others about global warming. In addition, the pizza place where I work part time uses there waste carbon dioxide emitted to heat there hot water needed for various reasons. I was the one who encouraged this after seeing this on television. People should try to encourage this practice as the carbon dioxide emitted in atmosphere cause global warming. In addition, we use motorcycles powered by electricity when delivering pizza. All we can do is educate people on the topic as much possible. These include ways such as through the media ( radio, t.v. , newspaper), going into our schools and workplaces, using billboards, flyers, advertising on food articles such as boxes etc. Just as much as possible to tell about this problem and in doing so we evaluate the effects of gobal warming and ultimately means of mitigating the issue

I think we tend to take global warming recommendations for granted. For instance, I didn't realize how important carb emisson regulations were until I visited a congested city like Manila. Over there, it seems so difficult to breathe because of the heat and smog (at least for someone who has lived in the US most of his life).

is not supported in the science and the movie by Al Gore 'neglected' to report all the facts.
the thin ice was measured during a cyclical heat wave, due to sunspot hyperactivity, using very modern equipment and very
primitive 'science fiction'.
The reported very thick ice cap, measured in the 1960's, was done using horribly ineffective primitive equipment, and the best science we had at the time.
Then, in Al Gore's movie, true science is violated, because4 the '100 scientists' who were mis-quoted by Al Gore, have all signed a petition that they were purposely mis-quoted, and their theories used in place of scientific facts.
Deep ice cores, tree growth rings, sediment samples, and chromo-gas analysis of ancient residue from the deep drilling projects, all support the history that Earth warms and cools on a long period repetitive cycle ("long", when compared to human recorded history!).
Al Gore failed to mention the 'midievil mini-ice age', and that over 50% of all Methane in our atmosphere is the result of cow flatulence, while over 35% of methane is from ant colonies.
One volcano emits more Ozone depleting gases than all of mankind's emissions throughout recorded and pre-historic history!
The list goes on, and, Al Gore has even lost credibility with his own college staff.
Why don't you see the sources for the criticism?

I am guessing your timeline on earth is probably somewhere around 15 years.
Please do some independent research, you will probably find that warming and cooling is cyclical.
It has been warmer and it has been colder.
Don't worry about it, and just because I don't beleive in the crisis, doesn't mean I am being selfish.
I am definately denying its existence though.
