My father who usually thinks out of the box ( hmm) has a theory that many of the natural disasters that are occuring are a result of secret underground and ocean nuclear testing? Could my father's theory be half true or is is too paranoid to even think about?

IMHO, for earthquakes the vibrations generated from underground explosions could release the load on the fault lines in the surrounding area and then cause earthquakes. A few days after every last test explosions, a (small) earthquake has been already registered. Others disasters like tornadoes are more related to warming that increases energy in the atmosphere so the results are more destructive.

He is too paranoid . Nuclear testing is a hot political topic. Every country is watching every other country to try and catch them in the act. If they do catch a country doing a test, they tell the whole world about it. Just like recently happened with North Korea. There is no chance that one or more countries is doing it and all the others either can't catch them or they just agree to keep quite. No chance at all.

then he is smart. i too asked this question a while ago but removed it because i thought it was stupid. keep it up. i think if north korea never announced it did a nuclear testing we would have thought it was just another earthquake. they may not have the missiles to send it through the air but what if they use it on the fault near california hmm? destruction.....
besides how could the built up pressure of the earth release twice in less than a period of a day. once would mean it released the pressure and a second time means something.
i give you thumbs up for that one...

Too funny
The natural disasters are the normal actions of the planet. The only reason they are "disasters" is because people choose to ignore the signs and build anyways. i.e. Tornado Alley, New Orleans (hello!! it's BELOW sea level. what did you expect).
The weather that stands out is from the planet changing. Call it Greenhouse if you want. (incorrectly named by the way). It's all part of the hundreds of years that the planet takes to renew itself.
