She passed the 7th grade math exam, when she was in 6th, so they offered her a chance to try out the 8th grade math class in the 7th grade. She makes friends in there, but now, her grades are a little bit to the down side. Before, she told me that she was practiclly guessing throughout the test. Do you think she should stay in this class, or do you think that she should go back to average math in her grade level?

I have an advisory teacher who is horribly mean to me for no reason. Keep in mind that for her class I do not receive a grade, but she can give me detentions and whatnot.
For instance, she seems to make up rules that only I am breaking that no one knows about, and then yell at me for them. She's a horrible person in general.
I want to play a prank on her.
I do not want to make her cry, or make her lose her job. But I do want to do something to the equivalent of slapping her in the face.
Preferably something over e-mail?

Are there any websites to teach young children basic math skills?

I had LD,I grew up in the 1970s and teachers, reading specialists told me to
give up on myself and I was wasting my
time trying to better myself. In 1979 I went
to community college and took some
remedial courses in reading and Math so
I could eventually go for a GED.
When I was having difficulty I told the
reading specialist I had LD and she told
me I was wasting my time taking her class
and drop out and I have no right trying to
better myself.,forget the GED.
I was 19 at the time and she was pass 40.
What could I have done to stand up to her
and convince her what she was doing was wrong
and win with her? Could I have gotten a discrimination lawsuit against her? I hope
no one here agrees with her.

For k-12 grade teachers do you have a child development degree? Is it a requirement? If not did you take any on your own?

I hated school uniforms and now I am kicking myself for not tearing them apart infront of my teacher.

I should have burnt them. Now I will regret that I never stood up for my rights enough.

How would you react to me getting this annoyed about school uniforms?
Everyone has a right to thier identity.

I just finished College last semester and have my BA in communications but I have been thinking about becoming an elementary school teacher for a while. Do I have to go back as a second degree student for another BA? Or are there certifications programs in NYC? I know that for a Masters, I’ll need some education credits but I only took one education class when I went to College... I tried searching to see what the best thing to do is but I can't find the answers I’m looking for. Links would also be helpful or a list of good education schools would be great. Oh and I already know about the NYC teaching fellows but I want to know of other alternatives. And yes, I am aware that teaching is a very demanding job but it’s what I want to do, maybe even becoming a sub, but I don’t know the requirements for that? Thanks in advance.
