To make this story short, I counted all of the students that this one particular teacher teaches, then i counted how many are failing. The number as just over 50%.

Is this grounds to get him fired? He does not have tenure and was fired from the mathematics department at the same school.

I live in the ny/nj area, and I want to be a high school english teacher (so thats, secondary education right?! Which I already know means I need a masters) I'll probably have my degree done by 2009/2010, so I want to know what the job market will be like then, because I heard recently theres a shortage of teachers.

I find it really hard to punish this kid because all he's doing is raising his hand to ask questions. But its question after question after question and it gets in the way of my teaching. For example I'll being going over instructions to an assignment and he'll start asking all these questions about it when I haven't gotten a chance to explain it yet! But I can't really punish him. What do I do?

Im a teacher in a pubic school and I see our children falling thru the cracks. The teachers these days dont care as much as they use to and all the principals care about is whos has the best school in the district. There is alot of pressure on the kids to do well on tests that sometimes determines where they will end up and the basic instruction is neglected.. The school system has a big part in the education of our children. And the public school system SUCKS!!!! On the other hand, there is not enough parental involvment. A lot of these kids dont have anyone to care about their education, like checking their homework, or going to a PTA meeting, or volunteering in the schools. Why does education have to start once your child gets into kindergarten? It should start at home.. tell me what you think....

I used a dry erase marker on my board then left it on while the board wasn't in use for a few months, now it won't come off. Is there anything I can use to take it off? I tried alcohol, hairspray, windex, orange clean, sticker remover, and soap scum remover.

I really need help to improve on my writing. I'm 13 years old, and for all my life, I've been told, "you're such a good writer!" and "oh my god! How did you get this good?" Never have I gotten remarks as to what I need to improve on, and it frustrates me.

I need someone who is willing to chat with me on the Internet, or at least sit there and go over my work- tell me what I need to improve on, and watch me grow to be an even better authoress.

Though I may be in advanced Language Arts, I still have flaws that need to be taken care of- the sooner the better, I say. Please help! If you agree, I'll send you a copy of a story that I've started.

I'm an undergrad now and have to decide if I want to become certified as a teacher during my senior year, or if I want to stay one more year and get a Master of Arts in Teaching. I plan to teach physics at the high school level. I've heard that it can be harder to find a job if you have a Masters because the school will have to pay you more compared to another first year teacher who only has a B.A.. However, I know it's harder to go back and get a degree later while teaching and raising a family. Any advice from people who've been there?
