What TEFL certificate do most private tutors accept?Does it have to be from the Cambridge TEFL? BTW, I came to U.S. when I was 8, so I can still speak Cantonese, is this a plus?

To teach privately it is unlikely that any one will ask you for a TEFL certificate. However, if you plan to teach in a language school I think any TEFL certification will serve you well. It is even more of a bonus if you have experience. You have a great advantage not only speaking Cantonese but being familiar with both cultures.

HI Karuna. This is sudhir 4m hyderabad ... i work as CSR in a BPO ... and as according to my personal experience , if u wanna learn English then just try to watch english movies and more important than that listen to english songs and try to understand the lyrics ... and also keep communicating in english with all , no matter who the other person is (may be any one ,, a rickshaw wala , grocery dealer any one ) and try to speak on any topic for atleast 2 min .. when u start learning the language and as the days pass increase the tim for 10 , 20 min ........ and just make sure u create ur own topic.... All the best and if u implement these am sure that u would improve compared to the current position of your language ...... All the best

If you are a "private" tutor, then any contract you enter is strictly private. You would only need a certificate as proof to your employer that you can tutor--otherwise "private tutoring" is not regulated.

Good Luck....
