My daughter is in the 11th grade and she has already transfered once in her high school career. However i have recently noticed the extremely rowdy behaviour (ex. students bringing knives to school and frequent fights) of the students at her school and i am deeply concerned for her safety. I would really like to transfer her out of her current school but i do not know how that would look on her college resume. If anyone can please help me, i would really like to know if frequent school transfers affect your chances of getting into prestigious colleges. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank You.

My daughter was threatened by a boy at school that she would be stabbed if she didn't steal things for him. The boy has admitted to doing this to the school officials. Can any legal action be taken against the boy for this? They are both in 4th grade.

Did you have pets in your classroom, was it a good experiance or did it distract you to much? I am working on a research project for my masters degree on this topic. Tell me if you are a teacher or a student.

Bear with me here, this will be vague. ;) But it's driving me crazy!

This is what I can say about the book: It was given to us in a third grade elementary class room. The base of the book was that there is a second dimension of sorts (another plane?) where giants truely exist. Most were mean and, I believe, ate children. A young boy somehow found himself in this dimension and met a somewhat small and goofy looking giant that was unusually friendly. VERY dopey looking! He took the boy in (I can't remember how long).
One main thing that sticks out: The giant LOVED drinking this bubbly soda-like drink. It started with "Fl...", I'm thinking "flobber___" or "flager___". The drink's bubbles always went down, instead of up, and this caused the giant to "toot" all the time, and he loved it!!

If you could help me I would just be thrilled!!! I've been thinking about this for years. My boyfriend had just mentioned it, sparking my interest further, but neither of us knows the author/title!

I have a gifted child who I think might benefit greatly from a more focused and challenging education than what she's getting in the public school system. However, I can't afford to send her to a traditional private school. Do any gifted schools exist that offer "scholarships"?
