Did you have pets in your classroom, was it a good experiance or did it distract you to much? I am working on a research project for my masters degree on this topic. Tell me if you are a teacher or a student.

Having experienced both, I think it's a wonderful opportunity to learn responsibility and caring for animals. It also introduces children to basic biology and zoology. It also serves for inspiration in other subjects. Kids write stories about the pet(s), for example.

something small like goldfish or a hamster, but have it in the back of the room and make it easily hidden as not to distract. oh and im a student good luck

Yes we have a pet mouse in science. Its fun just to know hes there. And if it ever dies replace it FAST!

Yes. Children need to learn about animals ASAP.
