At school I am the Vice-President of Student Council.
Our director is retiring and we are looking for someone new. As our school is a private school they take these interviews very seriously, what could be some questions for the potential diresctor(s)? Keep in mind that I need to ask appropriate questions. Thanks....

A little prairie schoolhouse filled with 60 white middle class students will outperform an inner city super funded school. Class sizes mean nothing in the right neighborhood.

My son is nearly 12 and does not enjoy his Englilsh lessons. I cannot get him to read much. The little reading he does is in vain as he's not interested in comprehension. I wanted him to get some private lessons, but his class teachers are against it. They say that it is a waste of money. The boy has never been interested in English at all however, he is excelling in maths and enjoyes it immensely. He seems to block every thing to do with English.
I'm awfully desperate, so therefore would be grateful if you can help me.
Many thanks in advance.

A quick little survey, please include age, gender, and rather or not you have children?
1. If you do have children, do they receive a reward for good grades? If you don't have children, would you give your children rewards for good grades?
2. Which is more motivating, a reward for good grades or the threat of consequences for not getting good grades? Why?
3. Would you send your child/ children to a school where they do not give grades

I'm about to go to school right now and wondering who invented school? Why 8 hours? Why 5 days a week? Why are we learning things that even the teachers know we are not going to use in the future?

My 9 year old son is really struggling with multiplication in school. He is in 3rd grade and has been diagnosed as learning disabled with sound system disorder. We have tried using flash cards, but with no luck. He has mastered 2, 5, and 10, but has failed 4. Of course, the other tables will be coming up in the next few weeks. The level of difficulty is also raised, because the kids are tested over all of the tables that they have learned, not just the individual tables by themselves. Any suggestions that you may have would be greatly appreciated. Trying to memorize flash card has been tried 3 times now and does not seem to make a difference. There is a slight improvement in his score, but not enough to pass. He is averaging about 45%, must score 80% to pass. Test usually consists of 40 problems that must be completed in 2 minutes. Thanks in advance.

Right now, I am a Junior, currently with straight A's. I am taking AP Language and Composition, AP European History, and AP Chemistry. They are my favorite classes; they are the most interesting and stimulating, so I don't mind the extra work. I'm feeling pretty confident, and I'm looking at taking 5 or 6 APs next year (out of 7 classes). I'm leaning towards 5, because I don't want to over do it. Recommendations?
