Right now, I am a Junior, currently with straight A's. I am taking AP Language and Composition, AP European History, and AP Chemistry. They are my favorite classes; they are the most interesting and stimulating, so I don't mind the extra work. I'm feeling pretty confident, and I'm looking at taking 5 or 6 APs next year (out of 7 classes). I'm leaning towards 5, because I don't want to over do it. Recommendations?

Here are the classes that I am considering:

AP Spanish V
AP BC Calculus (I'm in Pre-Calc/Calc A now)
AP Literature
AP US History
AP Physics

The question whether to take AP Stat or not.

Hi there, I just wanted to comment on the Stats and Calc thing: I have a few friends who are taking both and they seem to be doing fine. they all have A's in both. I am taking 4 AP's this year and one independant study AP class as a senior and i'm not having too hard of a time. here are my classes just in case you want to know:

AP Environmental Science
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Art History
AP Microeconomics
AP Human Geography (Independant Study)

I have previously taken:
AP European History
AP US History
AP Psychology
AP US Government and Politics

I think you should be fine, and feel free to ask if you have any questions on the classes I took. Adios!

if you are straight As right now, go for the 6 APs, you should be fine. Couldn't you have taken AP Literature instead of AP Composition this year? AP Literature counts more towards college. Make sure to take AP Statistics or AP Calculus, they are fun classes, but I really don't recommend you tkaing both at the same time though. Keep in mind that you need to keep your good grades in the classes that you take, but Sr year you also have to worry about college application and and financial aid things, so it might get a little overwhelming for a little bit in Dec. However, if you start your college essay and prepare your documents from now, and this summer, you should be fine when it comes to time management in Sr. year.

Dude as many as possible. I am a freshman in the University of San Francisco and my high school dd not offer many AP classes. But now I wish I had taken them. Don't worry about whether they will count in college or not chances are if you pass with a 3 and above...and especially with a 4 and above they will count for something.

My roommate took a ton of AP classes and she was a sophomore when she entered because of it. I will be a sophomore next semester but still. I wish I had been able to take more AP classes because they usually count for core classes in college.

P.S. Remember college cores are usually...one math
one lab with a science lecture
one history
one social science
one religion if you go to a religious affiliated school...
and things of that nature...so u get a broad spectrum...

Take as many as you feel confident doing. In order for the AP classes to really count you have to pass the AP test. So you don't want to set yourself up for failure.

can you take college courses instead? i never did it but some of my friends took some college courses their senior year, like English Comp I and II and College Algebra, so they could get them out of the way and not have to bother with them once they were actually in college. if you're allowed to do that as a senior at your high school, i would definitely go for it. then fill in with the rest of the AP classes you want to take.
