I'm about to go to school right now and wondering who invented school? Why 8 hours? Why 5 days a week? Why are we learning things that even the teachers know we are not going to use in the future?

I found this information online . . .
A guy named Harry P. School invented the first "school." When School invented school in 1369, it was meant to be a place for children if they were being bad, but then a guy named Horace Mann invented school as we see today.
I see some answers that they hate, want to hunt them down, or destroy the person who invented school (Horace Mann).

Schools have been around for a very long time, certainly from the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans, as long ago as 600 B.C. Until the twentieth century really only the wealthy could go to school, because schools were very expensive, and children from poor families had to go to work everyday so they could have enough to eat. Often school happened at home with tutors in those days, rather than as a community affair. The sad part about your question is that there are millions of children and young people all over the world who would love to have your opportunity to go to school instead of struggling everyday for survival.

In the early part of the 19th century you had to pay for education and only the basic three r's were taught to children whose parents could not afford this.If you are interested you should look up social reformers in the Victorian era.
