Because it gives you the opertunity to look at different things you wouldn't experience otherwise. It takes you to whole new worlds.

Because like our grandparents telling us folk stories about monsters and the boogy man, books have morals. In every story in a book, they have morals. The story reflects the situation most people are right now. Example of such would be lonliness. I'd recommend a book that has grief and dispare. So if your tired of listening to boogy man stories, read a book that reflects our character within.

The best combination for me is a good book and a good teacher because you always need someone to show you in a practical way what the book is describing! Without practice knowledge loses its quality

I don't know that they are, a book is as good as the author, same as a computer is as good as the programmer' I can put all sorts of cr*p in a book or a computer, that doesnt mean either is a good teacher.
We need a teachers to show us how to compare the various 'facts' we are given from all sources and to enable us to make our own minds up.
