Higher Education (University +) - December 2007

to a University degree program. I have 15 credits from University...then academic suspension, need 1 semester of community college. Can I get transferable credits for one semester from all online classes? thanks

The only subject I cared about in school was English. With this being said, I believe this would be the only thing I would go to school for. I love to read, write, and I also love to work on projects such as essays. I heard that there may not be a shortage of English teachers though. I also don't know if I want go in to teaching or not. What other jobs could I get with an English degree? I have heard from many people that having an English degree is useless. Do you believe this is true?

I'm a University student and it's my first year. I decided to move out and go to a good University awa from home. All it is trouble. Ever since I came here, I've put so much effort and time into everything I do. I'm in an engineering program, and yes that's what I want to do. But I'm stupid. I'm a retard honestly. Sicen Dec 1 till the 17 everyday I'm in the classroom from 10am till 2am day in and day out studying for exams. My exams are over but I feel like I'm going to fail some and I may need to repeat. I'm an idiot and I'm a disgrace. If I repeat the whole year I disgrace myself. My parents loose respec of me, my bro and sis well never look upto me anymore. They all think how wonderful I'm on my own and working really hard. And honestly, it hurts. I've worked so hard sacrificed food,money, friends EVERYTHING just for engineering. Not only that, I never slept in my residence, insead I sleep in liraries and classrooms because I'm too busy studying. And now, all that effort, is waste

I go to the local community college, and have procrastinated until nearly the last minute, but I was wondering what is usually the minimum amount of students that have to be enrolled in a class for them not to cancel it? The maximum amount of students in a class is 35.

why is everyone so against JC. all my smartsy fartsy friends all think there going to UCs and Ivy league schools just cuz they get 4.0s....then when sum1 suggests they try out a JC for awhile to figure out what they want to do they are just "oh that would just be horrible" in a woeful voice....why do ppl think that those colleges are so much better than JCs....isnt college what you put into it? are the professors really that different?

my overall gpa was 2.357

10th grade-

this are my grades now and hopfully by the end of the semister(a few weeks) i will have no d's or c's maby one c. Next semister i plane to buckle down and have all a's and b's,

i havent doney any e.c. things but plane to next year. also plane to take ap ans horners next year, and senori year. do you think that im at a good start to get into ucla or what? and also do you know the reqirments for ucla thanks.

I want to be a translator. I go to college searches, put in linguistics, but what I want is not coming up.

I want to learn Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, French, and Italian.Aleast three of those, preferably the first three.

What am I looking for, what college could help me? Would I have to go to different colleges?

If you have any referneces on colleges you think will help me, that would be great. On the East Coast of the US is my preference, but I would be willing to go out west if I had to find the perfect college.

Okay so how long does it take to receive your a.a degree ..I think its 2 years right ? I plan to just work on weekends and do all homework; with maximum study during the week...

I want to go to college, but I'm not a straight A student ... I've been told by some people that I have no chance of getting to college, but my guidance counselor tells me that colleges don't care about grades 9, 10 or 11. I've had teachers tell me I need to take all honors classes to go to university, I've had teachers tell me I don't. I've heard people say that college = better job and basically a better life. I've also heard people say that a lot of people go to college and then never get the job they wanted, sort of like my cousin who went to Duke and is always letting people know how miserable his life is.

I want to go to college, but I've been told so many different things, I don't know what I need to do to get there. People seem to get bitter when it comes to helping someone figure out how to get to university (especially on Yahoo Answers), it seems like it's all about who's the smartest and the name of the college someone goes to.

I live in a college town where the students number 22k, but the total population number is at 50k. My question is this: Do the college students count towards the total population? Does my town have 28k permanent residents, or 78k?

I have 2 small dogs (a yorkshire terrier and a pomeranian) that would have to come with me wherever I move. I go to a community college currently and am looking to transfer (likely out-of-state) and realize that most dorms do not allow dogs. I wouldn't mind living off campus, but don't know if I would be able to afford it, and I don't have friends currently interested in going to the same schools.

Ok, here is the story: Throughout the whole semester I have never missed his class, and has done ever hw, classwork, test/quiz with a score of A or B (mostly As). Overall, I was sure I would get an A...I even calculated. So I spent, like 9 days working an a scholarship with a required GPA. I was sure my GPA was going to be 3.75. However, the b***** prof gave me 89.44%. Making my GPA to 3.5, and resulting all the hard effort I put in the course as well as the scholarship to NOTHING.
I asked him if he could give me extra credit, he said NO.
Mainly, I dont know what to do, I cant just throw all the effort I put in that scholarship...n I got B (I deserve an A!).
I am thinking of crying in front of him for extra credit (really). What should I do for him to give me extra credit...please take this seriously. Thank you.
