My application is under review by Texas A&M, and I know I will be accepted because of automatic admissions. I guess I'm just impatient because this will symbolize the begining of the end of high school.

It does vary from school to school, but at most places the offices will close on Friday, December 21, and won't open again until at least January 2. However, don't expect much work to get done this week or until January 7, since a lot of people extend their vacations, use the time to have holiday parties, etc.

Many of the offices at TAMU are closed over the break. You might not hear anything until January. However, if you have automatic admission, just relax. You're in! But I know it's always nice to know for sure. You can call them and find out if the offices are open over the break. It doesn't hurt to ask.(979) 458-0427

Got a little hint about A&M admissions. You can check the website to see if you've been admitted. https://applicant.tamu.edu/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fSecure%2fApplicantInfo.aspx When your application was received, you should have received a "NetID" and "password". You can check to see the status of your application. I doubt it will change much over the semester break, but you never know. The website tells you before you get a letter in the mail.

If you don't have the NetID yet, try this. https://services.tamu.edu/directory-search/ Check "People Search" and enter your last name. See if your name shows up. If it does, you've been admitted. You'll get an official letter in a week or two.

Congratulations and gig' em!

Edits: Couple more hints. Dorms at TAMU are so varied. Go ahead and spend some time over your Christmas break to figure out which dorms you want to put on your top three list. It's easier to do that while you're not in school and have time to figure this out.

They are considered staff, not faculty, and so work year 'round, with typical recognized holidays off.
